Bay Buchanan...you hideous turd.
On Wolf Bushitzer's Situation Room this afternoon. "The facts are that if you have less black babies in the world you'll have less crime. Those are just the facts". Sorry if it's a dupe but I can't get that slimy shit's words out of my head.

Edited on Fri Sep-30-05 10:25 PM by ocelot
'"The president believes the comments were not appropriate," White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.' To say Bennett's appallingly racist statement was "not appropriate" is pretty damn lame, and is not what I'd call a convincing repudiation. If Busholini had a real problem with Bennett's remark you'd think he (or his shill Scottie) could come up with stronger rhetoric -- like the vilification they manage to throw at Dems every damn day.

It seems as if it's almost their new talking points, trying to out do each other with 'inappropriate' remarks. It can't be that they all took sodium pentathol and can't help themselves, they've kept a lid on their thinly disguised rascism up until this point. Now they're slinging it out there every minute. Incendiary no? Why, I know it's how they really feel but they are not usually so out in the open about it. Things that make you go hmmm.

there would be less lynching of innocent blacks.

And, if she will move to some part of the SoCal or of the southwest, she will talk about latinos and about Asians.

Frankly, the world would have been better had Mrs. Buchanan aborted at least twice. As brother Pat appeared on the Sixties show on PBS, he still blamed the Sixties for whatever ails this country.

You can't call really her on the facts. If there's fewer people in the world, there's going to be less crime. The problem is the that she (and Bennett) said "black babies" rather than just "babies" or "white babies" which evokes the worst kinds of racial stereotypes.

If you abort all

You can not prove that as fact. There will be a certain percentage of crime no matter what race or races inhabit the earth. This is just the same argument as was used to exterminate the Jews in 1940s. Why would you say something is true when you have no empirical evidence of that? I say it would be true that if all blacks were gone the whities would just turn their crime on another group and crime rates would actually go up..

51. It's good when individuals like Bay reveal their true racism and disdain
Edited on Sat Oct-01-05 12:49 AM by shance
for those that are not "like them". Its a primitive form of thinking which results from a lack of empathy and interest for those that aren't white and like I said, "like them".

Its sad that we still have individuals who still resort to showing a mental deficiency such as this. Because that in fact is what it is: a mental deficiency and a lack of graduation to adult, mature comprehension. Its can also be detrimental and in some cases, dangerous. In Germany, Hitler was laughed at and ridiculed for his blatant racism, that is, until he ascended to power.

Bay Buchanan shows a symptom of those who resort to blaming poverty and pain on those who are living it. It's a "blame the victim" mentality that is actually allowed to be aired as legitimate or worthwhile coverage. It is the most vile of accusations and the most pathetic, especially being that she has never had to experience such a life herself. Which is of course why she reveals such ignorance. If she had to experience such a living situation, she would have a different perspective to say the least. Nevertheless it is an indicator that a limited ability to empathize and lack of interest to understand the core problems still exists with those who are pretty primitive and disdainful in their thinking. They blame everyone else for what are often problems that they contribute to in the long run.

56. There are more WHITE people on welfare.
I had this discussion somewhere else and here is what a couple of the people had to say.

I had a wingnut I know bring up this article from TAP...

He said

Is Bennett incorrect?:

http://www.prospect.org/print/V12/1/abramsky-s.html

He may be speaking the truth and paying the price for it.

After all, legalized abortion is what Margaret Sanger's 'Planned Parenthood' intended to achieve from it's inception: Curtail the population increase of black Americans. Likewise, declining birthrates can't keep Social Security afloat no matter how much the government inkpen revisionists try to edit out that fact, and people have been saying for a generation that the political liberals have been effectively sterilizing themselves out of power from decades of abortion.

Why can't we honestly expose the truth in that regard, and why is Bennett being held responsible for it?

I see the greater picture as less liberals, less crime, less poor, less Chelsea Clintons.

... What's not to like?

To wit someone I know replied...

Congratulations, that was possibly the least right-wing-favorable article you could have linked to. I'm aware of that study which came out a few years ago. For those who didn't read the link, or are too lazy to, a study showed that falling crime rates in the 1990's were correlated with Roe v. Wade. In other words, aborting unwanted children starting in the 1970s eventually led to lower crime rates two decades later when such unwanted children would have been legal adults.

I don't understand why you posted that article, as it undermines a big piece of the right-winger's ideology.

For example:
1. It suggests that the right-wingers monolithic stance against abortion will actually make crime in the USA worse. In other words, the right-wingers are doing their damndest to increase the crime rate in this country.

2. It suggests that being tough on crime (a favorite right-winger attitude) has very little effect on the crime rate.

So, not only does it show that the right-wing agenda will lead to a crime-ridden america, the right-wing solution to such a future crime-ridden country will not work either. Conclusion: If we adopt the right-wing stance on abortion and crime we're screwed.

I might add that a corollary of the right-wing attitude is they want to halt all abortions, yet they simultaneously want to cut funding for social programs for economically disadvantaged citizens. In other words, they are doing their damndest to make more poor people and to keep them poor, in concert with the increased crime rates that unwanted children growing up in poverty will lead to.

So please tell me again why cutting social programs, overturning Roe v Wade, and being 'tough on crime' will make this a better country? I have no problem with locking up murderers and rapists, but giving a life sentence to a guy who's been caught smoking a doobie three times --- ala 3 strikes you're out --- is an insane way to run a criminal justice system. Then again, if they found DeLay was guilty of 2 more crimes ..... hmmm.... maybe three strikes you're out is ok after all.

their racism. They trot out the few minorities willing to be identified with them at their conventions and count on a small percentage of African-American voters to sometimes make the difference in close races. In 2000 Gore got 90% of the black vote and chimp got 8% - of the black votes that were counted. In 2004, chimp actually improved his percentage - scoring 11% of the African-American vote.

After Katrina, a repuke presidential candidate would be lucky to get 1% of the black vote. Those lost votes have to be made up somewhere. I think we can expect more of these overtly racist statements - meant to appeal to the racists lurking in the non-voter population. If those disenfranchised bigots start identifying more strongly with the repuke party - "Hey, they hate blacks too. I didn't know that" - they can go a long way toward strenghening their base - apparently its a gamble they're willing to take.

Wonder if Rice and Powell will ever wake up and realize they've been had.
