They don't want any social programs. They believe charities can help people with all the help they may need. They do not believe in Social Security. They would return us to the days when more than half the elderly in this nation were below the poverty line, living pillar to post with their children or whomever could keep them. They do not believe in fair wages or the minimum wage. Witness the Bush plan to rebuild New Orleans with labor that would be paid less than the prevailing wages. They do not support public education. It could be argued they do not support any type of education. Witness their argument about "intelligent design"? No thinking American could go along with their radical agenda. But they are against thinking Americans also...

. . . that they're completely and totally convinced that they're the ones trying to protect everything America built up. You can't shake them from that, either. They'll sit around ranting and raving about how the eeeevilllll left "hates America", but when you mention the court system, the media, the educational system, modern American culture, movies, music, literature, magazines, and that they're constantly bashing and lashing out at every bit of it. Somehow, though, they think that they're the one's who love all things American.

There's no way to make that point to most of them, though.

when they talk about how popular tv is fulla this or that, mention to them how it's the commericials that truly undermine all the old values etc, but as the commericials are for big biz, the so called conservatives turn into social radicals/extremists instantly

They just have NO IDEA how their rich leaders laugh at how stupid they are as they take their money, and get richer, while keeping the fires of hatred, intolerance and bigotry easily fueled by utilizing the public airways to demonize progressives, democrats, and liberals who are the ones doing their damnedest to fight for rights for ALL Americans, big and small through lies, and lies, and MORE lies...
