I am afraid the Republicans will come and take my guns away |
|
I say that because A I really believe it's probably not far off, and B the exploding head look on freeper's faces when I say it.
I do in fact own a couple of AK-47's an AR-15, and a handful of collectibles from the WW II era and a small arsenal of some of the finest modern made pistols from a Desert Eagle to a Glock PT.
I am not some crazy batshit yahoo or anything like that, just a guy whose dad was once a special agent for Customs who put his FFL liscence to good use :)

9. Uhhhmmm... the RKBA ban in post-WW1 Germany was part of the ... |
|
... armistice terms forced upon Germany by the Allies. It was NOT something the Nazis imposed. They didn't have to.

I will post pictures of my guns if nobody believes me.
The difference is either we know what it's like to actually use a gun to do harm or inflict death on another human being and found it's a little different than a video game, or at least we understand the reality that these instruments of death and destruction can bring therefore we abide by the (or at least I abide by) the philosophy of "don't live by the sword but be educated in the ways of the sword"

Amen. I didn't fire a weapon for thirty years after Nam. Even then I didn't like it - not at all. Before Nam I was like most young males -- neat-oh, keen-oh. Not afterwards. Nope.
Even now the only firearm I have is a shotgun ... and I've only fired it twice. It's locked away.

12. I own an East German Markarov |
|
and a Mini-14. Neither are fired very often, but they're nice to have. Beyond going to a target range, I keep a very low profile. Not even my kid knows I have them.
Not all lberals are un armed - but I just can't support the NRA.

5. Fits right in with the rest of their cynical lies. I told someone the othe |
|
day, that the RW survivalist loonies from a decade ago that went to live in the mountains of Idaho weren't the ones who needed to be afraid. The real threat is from these RW fascists that have taken over and unwoven the thread of American Democracy. We're the ones that need to head for the hills and dig some bunkers.

6. NRA Rolls = gun registration |
|
that's what my father always said when someone complained about the potential of gun registration. He claimed that when the government decided to round up the guns (and, he claimed they would!) the NRA member rolls would act as a de facto gun registry leading them right to your door! He didn't have anything but a hunting rifle he used maybe five times in his life but he laughed at what he called "gun nuts" who worried about Democrats and not about what he also called : "the unholy alliance between the NRA and the government"
I bet that is exactly what will happen.

10. I never thought of that... |
|
It's a good point, too. I hate the NRA and we own a gun, too. I think it's full of wackjobs and to see them in bed with the likes of the RW is unsettling. The republican party is the party of gawd and guns. How scary of a combnation is that?

8. I've always expected that |
|
It's always been their true agenda. They hold out the "we want to protect your guns" line for the rubes to fall for it, thinking they are protecting rights. In reality, they're pointing to it to hide behind while they take the other rights away, then they'll take that one and we'll have no rights at all.
IMO large city Democrats want to take away guns. Republicans want to take away guns-last.
