3. I've always wondered...
What is the point of "DUing" a poll?

11. I Know- it seems dumb, but it feels good!
I think it started with freepers who used to "freep" polls - they'd tell each other how to turn off cookies and vote again and again. Happened during the time of Clinton mostly.

5. The second question is not fair
I believe we can protect the country from terrorists AND protect civil liberties. I think John Kerry would have done so.

Just like we can protect the environment and also have strong economy. The GOP lives on false dichotomies.

Of course they word the Patriot Act question to dilute the answers by seperating "be scrapped altogether" and "be scaled back". Notice they don't split the pro-patriot act people by including an option for "leave it as it is".

12. Curious: they didn't include a "keep it as-is" option.
It was either expand it, reduce it, or scrap it. Not "leave it". Not that I'd want to leave it, but it was a strange omission.

15. I love Du'ing polls. I do wish
that the second question was "protecting our civil liberties" vs. "protecting the US from Terrorist." Yup - selfish, self-centered me vs. all those altruistic fascists out there sort of slant.
How about a third choice for the second question

Which is of more concern to you right now?
Protecting our civil liberties
Protecting the U.S. from terrorists
Impeaching George Bush and killing two bird with one stone
