Now look what happened.

Stupid Bug Man.

*squish*

Keep running your mouth about the Prosecutor, Bug Man, . . . this is getting interesting.

1. you mean the 2nd indictment?

I doubt Earle is paying that much attention. He's doing what he was going to do anyway.

2. DeLay was complaining that the "conspiracy charge" showed that

the Proscutor didn't have evidence of any direct wrong-doing.

So Bug Man gets his wish now--a direct charge of money-laundering.

And believe me, if you come out on the national news and talk shit about a Prosecutor, he pays attention.

Doesn't mean the charges are trumped up, but it means it pisses the Prosecutor off, so then there's no mercy.

10. No, Delay waived his statute of limitations. He cut a deal.
Earle decided the deal was off when he started demonizing the prosecutor.

11. What did I miss?
Did DeLay strike a deal or waive his statute of limitations?

15. If you read the initial indictment, Delay waived the SoL.
The SoL was for three years, and had already expired. The only reason why he would allow himself to be prosecuted for something that was no longer applicable is if he cut a deal to avoid worse charges.

It looks like the prosecutor didn't like being called a partisan liberal minion, or being accused of having coordinated with Pelosi.

13. I think Earle decided the deal was off when Delay went against the
plea agreement and tried to get the charge dismissed.

One does not do that when one is in a plea bargain.

14. The other day when someone said DeLay cut a deal
I asked why would he be out there bad mouthing the DA if he had cut a deal - the answer I got was that the DA had a thick skin....I don't believe there was ever any kind of deal - maybe he was hoping for one and that's why he waived the statue of limitations - either way DeLay is an idiot to keep bashing Earle.

3. I'm guessing he reneged on his plea bargain
figuring he'd get out of the charges by crying "partisan prosecution", so Earle pulled out more charges to shake him up.

If he doesn't go back to the bargain, I'm expecting even more charges.

5. Makes sense, Walt.
Besides, it's just stupid to publicly trash the Prosecutor.

Make your case in court. That's what I think anyway.

The Prosecutor can make things go from bad to worse, if not for all time, at least temporarily.

8. I believe you are correct

<snip>
DeLay may not have seen the worst of it yet. Sources tell TIME that while Earle was closing in on DeLay from Austin, Texas, a federal investigation into the spreading scandal around disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, accused with Michael Scanlon (a former press secretary of DeLay's) of bilking their Indian-tribe clients out of $66 million, has begun lapping at the edges of the former majority leader's operation. A former Abramoff associate who was questioned by the FBI in August says, "They had a lot of e-mails, a lot of traffic between our office and DeLay's office." Many of those exchanges involved lavish travel by DeLay arranged by the lobbyist but requested, the e-mails suggest, by aides in DeLay's office. (House members are allowed to accept gifts under limited circumstances but not to solicit them.) Says the source: "There was nothing I saw that hit DeLay personally, but there was a lot of questionable stuff that was going on with his staff. 'Tom wants this. Tom wants that.' Was it really him or just the staff that was being aggressive?" DeLay's office wouldn't comment on the Justice Department investigation, and neither would the FBI.

16. Are you saying Earle is throwing around charges because he
hates what Delay is saying or he is just following the law and doing his job?

I sure as hell hope Earle is not indiciting Delay a second time just because Delay is sliming him on Faux News.

We need indictments that will put the Hammer in the Slammer.
