Poll question: Should Democrats be willing to cheat to win in 2008?
I will discuss this topic at another time in a more extensive post that I am working on on and off, but I want to do it right because I know that it's going to ruffle a lot of feathers.

3. We Cannot Defeat Our Enemies By Becoming Them!
With gasoline at $3.50 a gallon or more in some places, I know that it's very difficult not to yield to temptation in order to save our country and the fate of the entire planet. However, if we debase ourselves and stoop to using the tactics of the opposition, we become them.

The best thing to do is support those members of Congress pushing real election reform legislation. Help them send it to *'s desk.

5. if they stood up and explained how GOP cheated, Dems wouldn't need to
if they did cheat on the scale of the GOP, we would no longer have a democracy.

then they would get it. But if we stoop to their level, all is really lost!

10. Where's the "pillage and burn" option?
I will only be willing to cheat if I also have the right to pillage and burn afterward.

11. No. But we do need to hit below the belt.

Liberal chain emails denigrating the opposition, digging up any sort of a thing to drive a wedge between the rich and the fundamentalist and libertarian constituencies, creating doubt about the candidate's honesty.

15. NO. We would be no better than them.
They believe that the ends justify the means.

If the means cannot be justified on their own, then the results will be corrupt.

We must be careful that in fighting evil we do not become the very evil that we are fighting (with apologies to Nietzche).

21. No way. Let me repeat: no way.
If the Democrats start pulling the same shit as the GOP has in recent years, I will leave them flat. Buh-bye, Dems.

No fucking way.
