Harry Reid doesn't support abortion rights. Right?
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 10:00 PM by BullGooseLoony
So I've heard. And, he seems to have no problem with Miers, certainly.

A report from the Dallas Morning News on Miers' abortion stance:

WTF is going on, here?

Enough with the bullshitting.

I WANT SOME FUCKING TRUTH- NOW!!! I'm not getting jerked around like this. I can't even tell which end is up anymore, we're spinning so much.

I'm sick of our politicians playing us.

1. They're not playing - they're rotting from the head down.
This is a party who's dead, bloated corpse is just releasing putrid gas.

Please prove me wrong, senators. Pretty please with sugar on top.

Now emailing my Dem senator asking he filibuster.

Please email yours, if ya got one or two.

2. I was on the other side of this, for quite awhile.
But then the article above just fit in with Reid's view too well.

What is going on behind the scenes in our government??? There's some kind of bullshit deal making, and I don't know what it is, but it sounds like we're getting shafted, to me.

Is the Dallas Morning News article just there to pacify the fascists??

Or is it the truth, and the Dems are giving in with the hopes, in the spin of "winning," to get a leg up for 2006, while they give up a 5-4 overturning of Roe v. Wade on the SCOTUS?

11. Roe V Wade is just the beginning
They're already dismantling the Endangered Species Act, forcing state matters into federal courts, etc. Roe is the very tiny tiniest tip of the iceberg here. Get ready for legalized child labor and no minimum wage if they are exreme as I think they might be. This is serious serious shit and the dems are selling us down the river.

3. HELLO????
ENOUGH WITH THE DECEPTION AND THE LYING.

If Bush is going to nominate someone to the Supreme Court, it is HIS responsibility to let people know that nominee's positions on the most important issues of our time. It's also our Democratic leadership's responsibility to make sure that he does so.

ENOUGH.

4. Ever hear of strategy?
Reid is employing it.

He's perhaps the most cunning individual in the Senate, despite his mild exterior.

Of course he's anti-abortion; he's a Mormon.

7. ??? You call that a strategy? Giving up Roe v. Wade?
Look! Here's tomorrow's NY TIMES article up, now:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/04/politics/politicsspecial1/04abortion.html

WHAT in the FUCK???

Are you saying that Reid's strategy is to just call it quits and let Roe v. Wade be overturned?

10. That Strategy is To Surrender Women's Reproductive Freedom
The majority support the right to choose. Every poll says so.
Nonetheless, the party leadership has decided that the issue is a loser for us, and that if abortion is banned that the religious right won't hurt us anymore.
By that logic, they will also have to cave in on birth control and gay rights (ALL gay rights) and whatever the religious reich asks for next.

6. What I think is important
is whether or not he supports the woman's right to choose and would up hold Roe V Wade. I personally am pro-life but I'm also pro-choice cause I know that I can't make someone do anything that I would do since we're all different.

9. Focus on Miers lack of judicial experience
Obviously, some incompetent cronyism is going on here--that's where we might stop this.

Reid had good reasons to want a woman nominee--but WHAT woman??? Competent woman judges do exist! Find one!

13. This is what happens when we elect those anti-abortion Dems who SUPPOSEDLY
respect the "rule of law" and would never question a woman's right to choose. I KNEW something like this would happen if we welcomed anti-abortion "Democrats" into the party.

She MUST be filibustered or Roe V. Wade is TOAST. Gone. Finished.

Say hello to back alley abortions. Say hello to self abortions. Say hello to unwanted babies being abused. Say hello to the 19fucking50's!:grr:
