If the conservatives dont like this choice for Supreme Court |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 10:12 PM by Ksec
whats that tell me?
That tells me that party has gone completely extreme. Really far right extremists.
Theyve gone so far right that theyre out of touch with 98% of Americans.
There is no way the country is on their side anymore. If a conservative lady aint conservative enough for them then theyve become extremists.

Conservatives really do like her, and with good reason. There's an orchestrated attempt to make those of us on the left think she's OK. More here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2130848-Laelth

3. You give Pat Buchanan too much credit. He's not that swift. |

He buried the chimp king this morning. I think they're really pissed, and betrayed. And I think it's hysterical. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8789892/#051003a

Thanks for the link. I hope you're right, and I hope the repukes have reason to dislike Miers. But for the life of me, I can't see any reason why conservatives shouldn't love her.
Depressing.

5. I think they wanted more swaggar, but B*** wanted an easy win. |
|
They wanted to think they stuck it to the libruls. That was really their only goal, all along. And they were deprived of it, because we're not yelling and screaming about these two.
But really, she's his lapdog, and that's reason enough to toss her. I hope we do, but, we could always do worse. At least she had been a librul at one time. And, since she's single, and female, and not under the control of one of their white men, she's a threat to their delusion of control.
I am not convinced either of the new justices will sway the court decisions to the right, but, we'll see soon enough.

7. There's definitely something to the idea ... |
|
... that they want to "stick it" to liberals. They do this all the time. Take ANWR. No need to drill there. Oil too expensive to get from there. Not much oil there, anyway. Still, big oil wants it just to "stick it" to the liberals. Like a spoiled brat screaming "mine, mine, mine!" Kid doesn't even want the toy--just resents being told that he or she can't have it.
Yes, I'm sure the repukes would like an offensive loudmouth nazi on the Supreme Court--Rush Limbaugh comes to mind--but, in effect, on the policy issues that matter, I see no difference between Miers and Rush Limbaugh. I insist on repeating my belief that we can not do worse.
end rant. thanks for your patience. :)

6. It would be funny if BOTH sides are pretending |
|
Reid pretending to like her. Conservatives pretending to hate her. That wouldn't make alot of sense though. There has to be a poser in there somewhere. And Reid was first.
Of course, they both could be honest here. Nevertheless, I don't think the Conservatives are thrilled that the more moderate elements in our party are appearing to be happy.
There is an element of extreme Conservatism that wants Liberals to be tearing their hair out. They didn't get that with Roberts, and it bothered them alittle. They're REALLY not getting it with Meier, and it appears that now THEY are the ones tearing their hair out.

8. Unless I'm mistaken ... |
|
Reid didn't actually "endorse" her. More like he damned her with faint praise. Most likely, he didn't know enough about her at the time to say anything one way or another, so he answered politely. Either way, I believe it's a stretch to say that he "likes" her.
But, please, correct me if I am mistaken.

he pick her.
It's all been flying by fast and furious so far. So I'll have to go back and look around.
