Do We Want a PIT BULL on the Supreme Court?

Pitbulls are for criminal defendants, which explains why George wants her on his WH team. But that approach is antithetical to the Supreme Court. Does George mean that he's sending her in there to fight for him?? That's just wrong.

Miers, 60, has been a close Bush ally since the early 1990s, and he has turned to her repeatedly in times of crisis.

The President admiringly once described Miers as "a pit bull in size 6 shoes."

***

A GOP source who is close to Bush and Miers says conservative jitters are unfounded. Miers may be an unknown judicial quantity, but Bush has assured friends she is a wholly reliable conservative who will move the Supreme Court to the right in a significant way.

"She is a very known quantity to Bush," the source told the Daily News, "and he knows she's absolutely conservative. When conservatives learn where she stands, they will be extremely pleased."

1. Apparently, being like a pit bull constitutes judicial temperament
these days.

2. But she wears size six shoes!
Apparently a major qualification. Or was * calling her a dog with big feet?

8. size 6 shoes are small for a woman
size 11 would be considered "big".

I don't expect she really appreciates the dog analogy - but then she "loves" Bush* - so maybe she overlooked it.

13. We only hate "their" trial lawyers
you know, the ones who end up with big judgements for ordinary plaintiffs injured by big corporations.

The "hot coffee burns from McDonalds" is today's equivalent of the "welfare queen driving a pink cadillac"

4. If she were on the side of "the people", it might not be so bad
Because she'd be fighting for the constitution, and that's practically what we need, a pitbull. But, she ain't, so, oh well.

7. she isnt a genius, isnt that competent, doesnt know constitutional
law. she is going to be lucky to get a damn paper written. cause along with not being able, she doesnt delegate. the least an incapable person can do is give it to someone who can do. she doesn't.

i see her as being much of a nothing on sc and her wishy washy in life politics, dem repug, bush hero, lead by the ring in her nose kinda gal, .......she can easily be swayed by others, or anyone else for that matter, in decision making. i dont think the repugs should feel comfortable with her

10. It sounds to me that she has been a leader
not a follower.

Not that I necessarily like where she is going. But there is no reason to assume she is a follower just because she is a woman.

She apparently led a large law firm, the State Bar, whatever....

21. that is contradictive to what i have been reading. and had nothing to
do with her being woman, seeing i am a good leader, not much of a follower and a woman, lol. i was referring to employees of the whitehosue saying she started with cards office, and these were her minuses adn got fired from card and given to bush. that is all.

9. There's already a gorilla (Scalia) and an ox (Thomas) on the SCOTUS.
Why not diversify the menagerie.

In the 2nd picture, she looks somewhat like Karen Hughes, doesn't she. Maybe it's the hairstyle.

11. I'd take a moderate hamster, if I could find one.
Who needs a right-wing pit-bull? Unless they square off against each other, which might be fun.

12. How about a KANGAROO?
Would be more apropos for that court of clowns.

Now, I guess if the woman is a female dog then calling her a b*tch wouldn't be inappropriate, either, would it?
