we are probably in deep shit. The amount of time he talked about it makes me think they are trying to get on record early. This makes me very nervous!

1. In a way, it's also very good news.

The biggest disaster would have been if they continued to ignore the problem. Now at least they are making some manner of preparations for it.

Mind you, that's not at all the same thing as actually managing the disaster when/if it actually happens. But it's a start.

2. you should be. CDC has been rightfully nervous for 10 years.

there have been yearly outbreaks in the far east - each time snuffing out a few dozen lives, then petering out. I have lost track of how many millions of food birds (chicken, etc) have been killed to prevent an existing outbreak from hitting humanity.

remember this. Influenza, AFTER WWI, killed more people in a year than that entire conflict did. millions in this country, millions in europe and asia, millions in africa.

10. The thing that bothers me though, is the AJC is accusing the CDC of

withholding info that is vital to making the vaccine. This article is troubling to say the least.

11. agreed. Haven't had time to look into that, but it is troubling

spouse and I have already made plans to close our house to strangers should an epidemic come this way. Not to be survivalist nuts or anything, but we have food, fuel and are ready for a storm. But that is just logic - we are likely to get hit, and hit hard.

Another thing that bothers me, the actual effectiveness of flu vaccines. Mostly, they don't work. First, the flu mutates. Second, the vaccine is never designed for the presice bug that attacks, and third, it provides a lot les protection than drug companies would have you believe.

5. He read a book about the flu outbreak over the summer

and he's very proud of himself. It was a hella long book with no pictures and he read almost all of it himself with only a little help from Condi, Laura, and Karl on the really big words. That's why he wanted to show and tell on that topic (what I did over summer vacation) today.

One of the cabal's goals is to impose martial law, and this criminal administration will resort to any means necessary to do that. Bloody George's enthusiasm and length of time spent on the topic indicate, IMO, that they have a plan.

8. Exactly! Hearing B* speak about avian flu and martial law made me

suspicious and fearful enough to turn on the comp and check out DU to see if anyone else was worried. I am very worried, and NOT about avian flu.
