"Informed Chauvanism" :eyes:
:eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: (my eyes hurt from rolling so much)

Are people writing this crap because they want liberals to support her - or do they really believe this crap?

-------
"But there’s a larger issue here. I cringe every time I hear the we-must-appoint-a-woman mantra or the-fairer-sex-will-save-the-day schtick, but it’s not just blind chauvinism. Call it informed chauvinism. You see, the governing principle here is that finding a traditional woman in the political arena is a little like finding a NOW member in a full-length burka.

Think about it: generally speaking, where do you find good, conservative, traditional women? The answer is in the home, not the House. Traditional women are usually devoted to traditional endeavors, such as raising their children and tending to hearth and home. And when they are forced by necessity into the workaday world, they’re usually doing merely what is required to put three squares on the table. They’re not seeking to exalt themselves through careerism.

At the other end of the spectrum you find the Hillary Clintons, Barbara Boxers and Diane Feinsteins of the world. These women drank deeply of the cup of feminist Kool-Aid, imbibing its precept that fulfillment can only be found through worldly pursuits which, as we all know, were selfishly reserved for men, by men. Simply put, a traditional woman’s greatest dream is to raise a family; a feminist woman’s greatest dream is to create a village that can raise a family.

To those who would dispute me, I throw down the gauntlet. Please name five prominent women currently in politics who possess genuine conservative credentials..."

1. OKey dokey, I will
Phyllis Schlafly, Elizabeth Dole, Condoleeza Rice, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Harriet Miers

Now, the definition of "genuine conservative credentials" was given but I'm sure that despite the long careers of these women supporting the status quo principles that this man likes---including telling other women to shut up and stay home---they are likely not "really" conservative but there are five off the top of my head who are conservative and vote conservatively and promote "traditional" structures.

I'd give 5 or 10 more but I have to attend to my "career" now

2. He goes on to mention 2...
"Now, I realize there are exceptions to this rule; the “Iron Lady” Margaret Thatcher is a sterling example. Another is Janice Rogers Brown, a black jurist who seems to be a true, bona fide constitutionalist..."

3. Your examples are flawed
Boy, you liberals just don't get it do you? The fact that these women have careers proves they're not real conservatives. I will reiterate the writer's challenge: point out to me 5 women in the political arean who do not have careers. Hrmph! Stupid liberals! Can't you see the iron clad, circular nature of my logic?

(I'd put the dripping sarcasm thingy here, but don't know how)

5. The lack of conservative women is not due to the choices THEY make
But to the choices conservative men make. I know a lot of conservative women in the business place. I've seen conservative women run for political office at the local level. They loose, usually in their own primaries,

And I know liberal women who are stay at home moms. I also know liberal men who are stay at home moms. WHoever this author is, he or she has done nothing to prove their point about "informed Chauvanists," only to prove that he or she is an uninformed Chauvanist.
