O'Lielly tops himself....
Bill O'Reilly: "General, you need to look at the Malmedy Massacre in World War II and the 82nd Airborne"

http://securingamerica.com/foxnews/2005-10-03

No, Bill, YOU need to look at the Malmedy Massacre...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malm%C3%A9dy_massacre

What a maroon.
How do these HIstory Channel watching chickenhawks even take this guy seriously?

3. Gotta love Bill....
You always know what you are gonna get with him....

I cannot believe he sat there and tried to lecture Clark about the use of torture by American soldiers throughout history. Seriously. His arrogance and condescending attitude are really more than I can take.

4. Amazing - Bill has his "implied" facts ass backwards - not the first time
but to go up againsy General Clark and to pretend you know the history of wars and the US, and to then blow it so badly.

I once thought all of Bill's lies were intentional - now I realize he is just stupid much of the time.

5. For some reason conservatives (Repubs) love to do this
I have no idea why other than making them think they "won" an argument.

They love to pull a piece of history out and tell you what it means and how it applies. I know that of course there can be a great deal of relevance and history repeating and all that but usually what they cite has little or nothing to do with the issue/topic. I have seen this time and again.

Christopher Hutchens did this on Bill Mahr's show about the Barbaree pirates and Jefferson and how that was the beginning of Islam's war on America. This clearly ignores the Crusades or the fact that the acts he cites were purely for monetary gain (okay some politico at the time claimed victory for their cause.... FAR away from the actual fighting).

They love to do this.

It makes them feel like they are superior mentally (regardless of their argument) and also as if they are the stewards of history. Something like that, it has to be for some reason.

8. O'Lielly's opinions suck
"I think Iran is thrilled there's a huge war in Iraq."
"Yes, can win the war in Iraq... if we cut an run."
If we cut and run, as 25% of Americans want to do right now. Iran fills that vacuum. They team up with the Shia. They basically call the shots in southern Iraq. So I think Iran's thrilled."
"That's what Iran's doing ."
"...we could take life and we should take his life if he doesn't help us out."
"Well you don't, listen with all due respect."

And Gen. Clark with his wisdom:
"I'll tell you what's put Americans in danger is not having the Geneva Convention enforced..."
