LOL! A lifelong Repub is mad at * for nominating Miers!

To:
President George Bush

October 4, 2005

"President Bush,

I am writing to tell you what you already know - you have obviously reneged on your promise to appoint politically conservative judges to Supreme Court vacancies. The nomination of Harriet Miers is a slap in the face to every one who voted for you and is a disgrace.

I am a loyal Republican, I have defended you even when you have stupidly pushed for
amnesty for illegals, I have rationalized your lack of leadership in the war in Iraq (a necessary and justifiable operation, one in which my son has fought not once, but three times). I have tolerated all this and still defended you – but this is too much.

Please tell me what would have been very different had I voted for John Kerry???? Would Kerry have pushed for amnesty for illegals? Probably. Would Kerry have mortgaged the future with wild-eyed spending in the New Orleans give-away lottery..."

Fed up Republicans Using Miers Nomination as an Excuse to Save Face While Giving Up on Bush
They don't want to admit that they were wrong on their policies or on their support of the Iraq War.

They don't want to admit that what their ideals have brought us is the biggest govt' in history and the biggest national debt in history.

They don't want to admit that Katrina was a huge federal failure.

They don't want to admit they have been supporting the oil companies and taking more money out of their own pockets causing gas to skyrocket.

They don't want to admit that they have become so corrupt that they are stealing more money than could possibly be saved by destroying public programs.

They don't want to admit that ultra-conservativism is causing most of the problems that we face today.

So, they finally are fed up, but instead of showing true form and admitting they were wrong, they are going to say Bush picked a bad SC nom. and that is the last straw?

Guess so.

4. Most Republicans I know (knew?) can't admit they are wrong...
on anything. So even if shrub's mis-administration is blowing up in their faces, it isn't THEIR fault that he is destroying the country.

'Course I can't figure out how the idiot got their without them...
...oh yea, Diebold !!!!

10. No, that's what Katrina did
It gave Republicans an excuse to dump their support of abject failure. An opportunity to throw their infatuation with right-wing insanity overboard. It gave moderate Republicans an excuse to peel off of right-wing ideology.

Not here though. This is hard-core wingers that are pissed that Bush isn't MORE hard-core right. They really mean it - they aren't pissed that Bush is too rigidly right, but that he isn't rigidly right enough.

Katrina was an awakening for moderates that fascist deal-with-your-own-problems ideology has terrible consequences for America. Miers is the opposite - hard righties angry that their extremism isn't being given unquestioned authority, not that they were wrong about anything.

Your analysis is wrong.

2. It is amazing to me that this is what they get mad at, not the lies, not
torture, not the horrible response to 9/11, and to Katrina, not the corruption, not any of the miriad 'gates' that are happening every second they are in office, but the fact that the Supreme Court nominee is not conservative enough for them. I don't even believe conservatives are upset, I think it's orchestrated to make Dems feel complacent about her getting through. She's a fundaholic freak as far as I've learned so far, and she's been privy to all of *'s legal maneuverings to avoid being exposed for the liar and criminal that he is.

3. OT, maybe, but the "New Orleans give-away lottery" reference
makes me angry. How would this selfish, cold-hearted idiot propose to solve the problems in New Orleans? He doesn't seem to care that U.S. taxpayers are spending billions per month in Iraq, but he gets wild-eyed when Americans need help?! What a jerk. If his neighborhood had been ravaged, I'd bet he'd be the first one to cry.

9. The cluster of Bushbots at the shop my husband works
in were in the lounge when * came on with his speech today. They turned the teevee off and left to have lunch in the yard. My husband got such a kick out of this. They are furious with *.
