Do you REALLY believe that all of Bush's backers are mad about Miers? |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-04-05 06:07 PM by linazelle
I don't.
I could see a few of them speaking out. But ALL of them? Rush, Kristol et al? It doesn't add up.
I see the same old MO in play: they are all still in lockstep even in opposition. It seems scripted. Perhaps some of them got a fax blast or two?
I'm just waiting to see what the end game of all this hemming and hawwing over Miers is really about.
A hint: While everybody's agape at the criticism, they will be creating another "reality." This is only a minor distraction.

She is rock solid what they want, regardless of the so-called signs of discontent (Cheney calling Limbaugh, Hannity and Loofah man sound disgruntled). Don't buy it. The want her.

9. I feel it is a concerted effort on the part of W and |
|
the Repubs to try to make the Dems think she must be okay. If they fall for it they will look like fools. If she is appointed there go our rights and Roe v Wade.

23. Think that's right, no two way about it. All the bad signs are there plus |
|
for me, and those 23 Democratic Senators who voted for Roberts should have known it better than I do by now: by definition, any Bush appointee is unacceptable. Bet on it.

In that *'s weakend state, he had to nominate a Souter/Kennedy type of justice when they wanted a Scalia type. That's my take on it anyway.

|
I mean come on, all of them are opposing Miers because they are all "disappointed"? I don't think so. It's all orchestrated.

This is quite calculated on their part. Your scenario would lay bare the ruse.

14. I agree with you. At this point, the anger and disappointment are |
|
telling--because she has no record. So what are they so angry about? It's Seinfeldian: Much ado about nothing....yet.

bush has said that all of her White House paper trail is verboten so whatever we can dig up in her past is all we're going to get. Expect the White House to offer NO cooperation whatsoever in her background investigation. Even worse than Roberts, you bet.

wish. "He should be on some bar floor, drunk as a skunk, soaking in his own puke." No way will he remain sober after the election or as soon as his poll numbers sink into the 20's. We'll be scraping him off the floor soon, very soon!

why they think we'd think they thought the nomination was bad. If you were a bush backer how could this nomination possibly be a bad thing? If she were any further up bush's ass she'd have to be surgically removed.

I think Harry Reid knows that this is the best play possible. Get this woman on the court. If they shoot her down, we'll get a hardcore neocon, born again, ideologue.

and these appearances by the fuhrer are horsecrap as well. For some reason the Delay indictments calmed me down a bit, but i am back up to red alert now and hunting for bear. The only thing that will calm me down when it gets like this would be Fritz coming through, or some fantasys that involve heavy artillery and loud explosions.
