1. Well, if you aborted every Christian fundie's baby there is no doubt |
|
the number of Repugs would go down. But, that would be morally reprehensible and I'm not suggesting it.

2. Let's see, it took the Repthuglicans 30 years for their |
|
plan to come to fruition. So if we implement our plan now (plan yet to be determined) we should be sitting pretty in the drivers seat in about 2035.

3. Plan yet to be determined is a little nerve wracking |
|
we know what we stand for -- why don't we stand up for it?

5. Wait until the US economy collapses and then hope everyone will |
|
vote Democratic.
I can't seem to find any other plan.

8. How do you motivate a base to start infiltrating school boards.. |
|
..and city council positions, etc., etc., etc.
Obviously it can be done, the right has been doing it for years.
 What motivated them?

10. We have to run against the corruption of the GOP. However, many |
|
Americans probably have to become "uncomfortable" in their personal situation than are now. The corruption is obvious. But people don't care as long as they have a house and job.

11. We wait for them to destroy themself |
|
And then we wait for whoever replaces them to destroy themself. Then ... yes then the true genius of our plan will be seen.

12. According to some dems in washington |
|
the strategy is to give the republicans and their corporate paymasters everything they want...
When I was kid a friend and I would sometimes play chess. Whenever he made a bad move or lost a piece he would claim it was all part of some grand plan, like "I meant to do that". I suppose he was trying to cover his embarrassment, trying to save face.
I hate to say it but I can swear I hear that type of thing coming from alot of our people recently. (i.e. Reids MASTER STROKE of endorsing Meier. Yes those STUPID republicans are gonna take Harry's bait for sure. They sure will know they've been played for fools once Meier is confirmed and sitting on the SCOTUS for the rest of her life! OOOH, good one Harry.) Sorry but I am very worried about the way our party seems to be headed.
I am not, have never and will never advocate voting for "*" and Co. (GOD FORBID). We should support our party and vote for democrats but unless I'm mistaken the whole point of having primary elections is so that if we are unhappy with our parties current direction we DO NOT have to vote for THESE democrats (and before you flame me I'm not talking about EVERY democrat. We all know and are grateful for those who have been standing up for us.)

14. The problem with the primary system, as it is now, is that |
|
whenever a really different candidate pops up the DNC shovels truckloads of money into the "safe" candidates campaign. How did Kerry come out of the not likely column to get the nomination in IA? DNC money. Dean was too loud, too radical, and was not towing the line so it was decided that it was Kerry's "turn". :toast:

But I'm not rich or influential and the only tool I have is to try and send a message to incumbents with my vote in the primaries.

13. The same as the strategy the rethugs used. Stop trying to shove the |
|
controversial and divisive issues down people's throats. I have no problem with, and enthusiastically support gay equality, but the sad fact is that a majority, or at least a large minority, of amerikans do not. This is just one example and there are many more. Instead, how about making the issues that a clear majority of citizens agree on? Abortion is a big one, every poll shows 65% or more favorable opinions. Restructuring the tax code to put the major burden back where it belongs, on the corporations that have used our system to get big. California has shown again and again that, in spite of the grand-standing, no corporation is willing to give up a lucrative market because it doesn't like what the government does. Eventually they accept the new rules and comply. Again, these are just a couple of examples. Just like the fundie-wackos on the right did in the 80's and 90's, the less popular members of the Democratic party will just have to bide their time until the party has the power to push their issues. It's an idea anyway.
