MIERS FOUND CHRIST, TURNED REPUBLICAN (so says SLUDGE)
Yikes...!

For whatever it's worth, sludge has this scribbled across his seemy page >>> Some scary shit, as much for how it will be taken by the fundie "believers" as for the substance of what it actually says. Watch for the debate to turn RELIGIOUS, really quick.

MIERS FOUND CHRIST, TURNED REPUBLICAN

By 1979, Harriet Miers, then in her mid-30s, had accomplished what some people take a lifetime to achieve. She was a partner at Locke Purnell Boren Laney & Neely, one of the most prestigious law firms in the South.

But she still felt something was missing in her life.

The NEW YORK TIMES is set to splash the "something" on Page Ones on Wednesday, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

It was after a series of long discussions with Nathan Hecht, a junior colleague and sweetheart, that led her to a decision that many of the people around her say changed Miers life.

"She decided that she wanted faith to be a bigger part of her life," Hecht said. "One evening she called me to her office and said she was ready to make a commitment," to accept Jesus Christ as her savior and be born again, Hecht said. Miers became an evangelical Christian and began identifying more with the Republican Party than with the Democrats who had long held sway over Texas politics. Developing...

6. 60 and never been married. She's a first class SINNER i would bet!
Either judge Hecht is hitting it hard and/or she's a lesbian. Either way...she's living in sin (according to their twisted worldview).

They will force religion from the bench.

This nation will lose all freedom within five years.

15. hey walt...
inevitable, i suppose. we've had the long dark midafternoon of the punditocracy, the short but raucus midday of the meritocracy, the interminable early morning of the kleptocracy, and the blazing sunset of the oilocracy.

i think a theocracy would split the country. really. those of us in the northeast have already entered into negotiations with canada; i suggest the west coast do the same. the midwest and the west, you're on your own.

those of you in the southwest, head to mexico.

as for the south, well, go on and elect roy moore your president. we'll keep our borders open for all refugees.

the great experiment may very well be over; shredded, ironically, by the very people ike warned us about- the military industrial complex and wacked out texas oil salesmen.

18. "Something was Missing."? Exactly what does that mean?
This sounds too boiler plate. Ask any born-again and you'll get a "something was missing" or "a part of my life was empty". I don't doubt that to a point some people do find faith this way. However, this seems too convenient. I am willing to bet that there may be something in her closet, so to speak. Guilt is another factor that can drive people to the church.

19. and this is the problem
So she wanted "faith" to be a bigger part of her life. So does she try to make the world a better place as real Christianity requires? Does she adopt some homeless handicapped children? Join the Peace Corps and assist the third world? Volunteer at a local hospice? Load up her backpack and trek to a himalayan monastary on a truth seeking pilgrimage? Nope.
She "becomes" a Republican.
