OK, I'll admit it isn't the best show on teevee, but after episode 2, I like it. I like it because it echoes my hope that an elected official (even if it only happened for political gain) would find their spine and honor the oath of office and work toward the good of those they represent. I also am hopeful that the average guy/gal will understand that their "government" is working to support their own self-interest regardless of how it affects the health and welfare of the nation. As someone who had lost their faith in government in 1963, I think we are in the best position since then to reach true self-governance. I hope those that watched felt the power of the last line of Madame President at the end of the show.

"Boston Legal" too. It's kinda fun; sorta confused in its goals though. I like that it is a mockery of legal shows. I like that.

2. They need to send those kids off to boarding school, fast. |
|
The kids are a boring waste of time. Show me Donald Sutherland and Peter Coyote and Geena Davis.
And that evil blond assistant of Sutherland's. I like her.

|
exactly like that other show about a president, so they were going to show more of the family dynamics.

Geena Davis was talking to the Peter Coyote general character, trying to get him to reconsider the VP position. He had just asked her why he would want to be on a losing team since she was an Independent & was surely going to lose the election in 2 years. She said, "You're probably right, I won't win in 2 years, but that means I won't be campaigning, I'll be doing what I'm supposed to do -- working for the American people. What will you be doing for the next 2 years?" Next scene was the press secretary being asked about the VP position & Geena & Peter walk in. Then they flashed to the Donald Sutherland office & he was majorly POd.
I like the show. I hope as people watch it they realize that the majority of our current officials - on both sides - are in it for themselves, their bank accounts. They are not in it for the betterment of our country & if we don't wake up & take action soon, it will be too late.

I heard on Stephanie Miller this morning that the show pulled top ratings for the time slot.

7. Anyone else think Gen Keaton is at least partially fashioned after... |
|
...Wes Clark?
Not so much in his demeanor, looks, etc. But he led a war without a single U.S. casualty (Kosovo) has extensive educatio in Economics, etc.
