Was the story about Reid's recommendation of Miers for SC just a rumor?

4. Ok, 2nd link does have some Reid comments PRIOR to nom. I wasn't clear

in my post that I was asking about a recommendation PRIOR to the nomination. Here's what it says:

In a written statement, Reid praised the Dallas native as a "trailblazer for women as managing partner of a major Dallas law firm" and said he would be glad to have a former practicing attorney on the court. If confirmed, she would become the second woman on the court, and the third in history.

So, apparently the stories were accurate. I just wonder if there is any other info on his reasoning. Is it ONLY that she is a woman and practicing attorney? I certainly hope not! I'd love to see something more on his letter.

I sure hope he knows what he's doing.

I am so tired of reid. Many DUers think he is great. I don't .He voted for the bankruptsey Bill and has swallowed everything the GOP dishes out. He fluffs his feathers once in a while but it amounts to nada.
