Looks like ball-delivery is being held up for some reason. I don't know what you saw in that article that will cause people to figure out what's happening with this nomination.

4. Looks like the old check-mate to me!
"I just can't tell you how important it is for us to guard executive privilege in order for there to be crisp decision-making in the White House," Bush said.

Good luck, Jr. There's a new law on the books. I'm sure Ken Starr rings a bell!!!

Peace.

9. From the Yahoo (huffpost) article...
"The people, and the Senate, cannot be forced to make blind judgments about the most important members of one of the three branches of government. It allows the Executive to totally dominate two of the three branches of government. It makes the future nine members of the Court responsive to one man (or woman). It is not an overstatement to say it is the end of this democracy as we know it."

"Ms. Miers' ultimate clients, when working for the President, are the people of the United States. Constitutionally, it is to the people to whom she is ultimately responsible...and the Senate, the elected body of the people, has the right to know what the President knows so it can exercise its constitutional power of consent."

WELL, DUH!
--It would seem then, that the claim to executive privilege would be a snag. But they get by with this stuff...
