I know most of you don't pay any attention to Larry King, and neither do I. I do like listening to Judge Judy Scheindlan though, and I turned it on, for the second airing, because I just wanted to hear what she was saying.

Larry's first question was "What do you think about the nomination of Mires to the SC? She said she seemed to be a successful attorney, and I'm sure she's very smart, BUT, you learn a lot about people, the law, and how your decisions affect people ONLY with judicial experience! You learn how to question people and lawyers, and what things you can spot when you're being snowed!"

What she said made a lot of sense!

I realize the Pubs say that Rhenquist was never a judge before he was appointed to the court, and several others too. Unfortunately, I don't remember Rhenquist when he was first on the court, or what kind of questions did he ask, or what decisions did he write?

I guess my biggest fear is, if the Pubs turn against Shrub on Mires, will Shrub just nominate Janice Rogers Brown? Sorry, I'd rather take my chances with an unknown than THAT wingnut!

1. But but 19 other supreme court justices didn't have experience as a judge!
Now I think that number last time I saw it on FR was like 39. Any blog done research on who these were? Sounds like "John Kerry voted to raise taxes five hundred and seventy-four BAZILLION LAGILLION times."

3. I never heard the # 19. The guys on CNN today were saying
there were 4 or 6. I remember one name mentioned w3as Abe Fortis and I think White. That's the only names I heard mentioned.

2. This whole thing is revolting.
I am a teacher and there is NO WAY IN HELL that I would have let into a classroom without my several years of "practicum" first. Yet, this hag of *'s get elevated with no background what so ever. But am I surprised? Hell no!

4. Not being a judge isn't the problem
It's the bushway of old-fashioned politics: get money and power with connections, reward your friends and punish your enemies. The USA is now more of a crony capitalist country than some of those developing countries that were tagged with that label some years ago.

It's got to stop. Meirs should be opposed on that one fact alone.

5. Ann Coulter is completely against this woman
Says the credentials aren't there. So why did W and Reid go gung ho on her approval? I know Dr. Dobson is in orgasmic heaven. Why?
