Doing everything I can to try to convince folk that the loud sucking sound they are hearing is our Republic going into the sewer.

I plead with everyone at DU to mount a sustained, unrelenting campaign to convince Congressman Conyers that he has a diverse and large contingent ready to work with him to save our America from Bush and his neoconster gang of torturers, murderers and thieves.

4. Congressman Conyers needs no convincing

Congressman John Conyers Jr. has been working absolutely tirelessly and is on top of every issue that crops up. You only have to read his blog to see that he acts almost immediately an issue arises and in many cases is far ahead in thinking of anyone else.

It is up to all the rank ad file Democrats to ensure that other Congressman and Senators line up behind Congressman Conyers. Congressman Conyers is not politicking for power or position.

And then you have Democrats (?) Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman, Bill Nelson, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, who are hardly Democrats but various shades of Repugs?

Congressman Conyers has been doing his job with Herculean effort for a man of 70+ years.

I think your concentration should be on getting rid of fake Democrats and getting true Democrats behind Congressman Conyers!

Pelosi is at best a mediocre leader and at worst has flubbed many opportunities during interviews to attack Buah. Conyers and Waxman should be in the top leadership positions in the House.

He is the only Democratic leader showing consistency in courage and willingness to take on the huge issues that face us. I also love his outreach efforts and the fact that he bypasses the media to go directly to the people. He really is my hero.

I have had numerous conversations with a variety of folk about the Congressman, in many instances having to explain who he is and what he has done. The typical response has been "now that's the kind of person I want as President."
