CORONER: DEATH TOLL NOT EXPECTED TO JUMP 'Thousands dead' rumor wrong

...The latest casualty and missing persons report for the six southern counties from Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove:

Missing persons: 594
of 695 people reported missing are accounted for, leaving 101 whose whereabouts are unknown; the list is based on inquiries from families and friends.

Death s: 167
confirmed deaths include 12 from Jackson County, 17 from Pearl River County and 1 from Stone County. None from George County.

Harrison County: 65
of 88 bodies identified in Harrison County, 62 released to families.

Hancock County: 35
of 49 bodies identified in Hancock County, 35 released to families.
