2. In a nutshell (60 secs talking points by me about why Delay is a crook)

Delay used his PAC to illegally channel corporate money into several key Texas State Legislative races back in 2002. (Key point here is that it is illegal to donate corporate money to state candidates in Texas). This just barely tipped the Texas Legislature to GOP control. First order of business was an unprecidented mid-decade redrawing of the Texas Congressional Legislative map, carving out five new GOP safe districts in order to increase GOP strength in the US Congress, increasing the likelihood that Delay would stay in power in Congress even if the Republicans suffered losses in later elections.


That is what he did.



Everyone in Texas has known about this for years. No one really expected him to ever get indicted for it, cause Texas politics is dirty as sin. Hats off to Ronnie Earle.
