which are never under threat, often push policies to censor the opinions of those they deem 'liberal academics.' Their policies should generally be known as an 'Academic Bill of Goods.'

They want to be able to say things that are wrong and not be corrected or marked down for it. They want to be able to cite propaganda rags like NewsMax as credible sources. They're basically just mad that education makes people less prone to be ditto-heads, so they're trying to ban education in education.

4. they want affirmative action for their ideas |
|
Which is interesting given their history regarding affirmative action.
What I say is, if academics continue to reach "liberal" conclusions in their research, the simple reason is that the "liberal" idea is the right one.

I have heard demands for "equal time" for conservative opinion on college campuses. The problem with that is the same problem with "equal time" on the news, is that it enforces a 50/50 split where there may not be one. If 75% of the people are liberal and 25% are conservative, one may fairly expect to hear a conservative message 25% of the time, and not 50%. Further, if the political binary is being enforced such that any idea that is not sufficiently conservative is deemed liberal, then a radical conservative idea holding only 5% of the mindshare may be held up as deserving half the exposure.
People have a right to speak, not to be listened to, and ideas as such have no rights at all.
