Poll question: Would you take Nelson Rockefeller for President?
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 03:02 PM by Tyler Durden
Nelson and Happy. SHIT do I miss them. George Romney was also a Moderate to Liberal Republican of the old school. Wonder what happened to "Mitts"?

On with the poll.

Whenever someone accuses me of hating Republicans, I start singing the praises of Nelson Rockefeller. Hey, any big time Republican who's rich to boot and is human enough to shoot the bird at someone is OK in my book.

Could you STAND to have any of these guys as President?

2. His nephew is in the Senate..............
John "Jay" Rockefeller (D-WV). He was a great governor. I'd settle for him, even though I'm still pissed he approved Roberts.

3. No. Not one.
Never voted for a republican in my life, don't intend to start. I'd vote for a yellow dog before I'd vote for a republican.

4. Compared to what we have now, I'd take Nelson in a split second
He seems more of a Democrat than Harry Reid did yesterday.

5. I lived under Dwight as President for eight years
Well, I was also eight years old when he left office, so I don't have many opinions about the experience.

But Rocky today would probably be the equivalent of a moderate Democrat, for the most part.

6. Screw every one of them
I could not stand a single one of them, including Rocky. Flipping off hippies does not redeem him in my book.

Everett Dirksen once flipped off my father while Dad was lobbying against right-to-work laws. Fuck Dirksen too.
