1. How can anyone hate Gore?
He's a terrific person.

How many people would do what he did for New Orleans?

Better question: How many Republicans DID what Al Gore did for the sick and dying in New Orleans?

2. It boggles my mind. He's an extraordinary public servant...
...and as good a person as Bush is bad.

5. No because I don't want to register on their fucking website
Edited on Wed Oct-05-05 06:08 PM by drummo
If there's anyone here who has already done that please post this link to the idiots. Not that it will make any difference, Gore speaks in complete sentences and that's not what Rushistas and Hannistas can widthstand.

One thing which Gore never does is blaming the people.
In my view the biggest problem is the people themselves. The lazy, ignorant masses who are not even interested in the truth because it is
not exciting or does not fit into their simplistic worldview.
The media only follows them as they try to figure out what the masses want to buy.

10. I wrote about Al Gore's speech at "SpeakSpeak News" today.
http://www.speakspeak.org/speak-blog/2005/10/06/al-gore-speech-on-media-and-democracy/

Is viewer created-content, which Current TV runs 24 hours a day/7 days a week, the best way to address the issues which Al Gore highlights as important?

Current TV ran a short video on global warming recently. Other issues mentioned in this speech by Al Gore-torture of prisoners, the gap between rich-and-poor, the national debt, the loss of manufacturing jobs- I haven’t seen covered yet on Al Gore’s channel. (There may have been a short video on one or more of these topics when I wasn’t watching.)

It’s admirable that Al Gore wants to turn TV into a chance for viewers to provide content in the form of short videos.

But Current TV could run short videos 23 hours a day, and have 1 hour a day of presenting professional investigative journalism into the issues discussed in this speech.

If a nightly newscast would too expensive, how about a weekly newscast?

11. Current aired reports about homeless in LA
protest in Camp Casey, the genocide in Sudan, the reaction of Venezuelans to Pat Robertson's insane comment, Tora Bora, the post-Katrina mess, illegal immigration, medical marijuhana, the "homeland security" in DC, the reaction of US troops to the TV series 'Over There' to name a few political subjects.

In their screening room there are even more "controversial" material.
Look for yourself: http://current.tv/studio

But it is NOT a political channel, OK? Never intended to be one.
And if you want more political content make it and upload it.
A month or so now they will reveal the exact formula which determines whose video can get on TV. If enough people like your investigative piece it will go on air. If not, sorry, that's democracy.
