Proof that Rove Will Be Indicted after Next Thursday! (Okay, so for ME)
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 07:43 PM by Dem Agog
My father hates this administration more than you can believe. I adore Dear Old Dad and I happen to hold his every view on this administration, every bit as much as he does, if not more in some places. (I don't think he posts here, though we talk about DU all the time, he knows my user ID and he's a definite lurker!)

Well, Dear Old Dad's going to Europe next week for ten days! I spoke to him on the phone tonight. (My opening words were, "You got your popcorn?"  <--- Father and daughter enjoying this show side by side...)

I told him on the phone, "You know what'll really piss you off?" "What?" the wonderful, wise man asked...

"All this shit will probably come crumbling down when you're in the south of France and you won't be able to watch it!"

He agreed. But I did mention that CNN is most everywhere in Europe... This is my Dad's first trip to Europe, and I hope he has many more...

So Dad, unable to enjoy the show == Rove, et. al. taking a very public nosedive worthy of a show... In my book.

Head on out Dad! Be the guy that leaves the table for the bathroom just as the waitress brings your food! Take one for the team!

1. That's sweet! My dad isn't going to Europe,
but he sounds like your dad! We have to stick together, and it's great to have 'this' in common!:toast:

4. The father-daughter bond is stronger than ever...
I learned everything about human decency from my father, a man who supported Carter even as every kid in school told me Reagan was the better choice... (They were parroting their dads in this rich, white town.)

My dad's been rich, he's been poor, we've been together everywhere in between. Dad has never wavered on voting for the man who is decent, and kind. He's my greatest ally.

I so want for him to see Bush brought down. I know it would do his heart good to see corrupution get its commeuppance!

13. I want mine to see this admin go down as well! RE: CNN,
or CNN Int'l, this is a big story. If Fitz's results are announced, I think the international community will hear about it. As much as the blivet, et al, are despised, this will be really big news.
PS I'm one of 3 daughters, 2 brothers. All the girls are dems, the brothers are repugs. Go figure...

6. Alas no cell...
He lives on a small island with his wife (my stepmother)... No cell...
I may have to send him a telegram...

He did that to me the first time I went to Europe. I was 15 and he paid half my way (I paid the other half). He told me not to call (LD rates were so expensive then) but then sent me a telegram saying he didn't mean it, he wanted to hear from me, and to please call collect.

I was the coolest kid in the whole travel group! I got a telegram! Damn the 80's were different than today...

5. Do they really?
I was in Italy last month and we didn't get much.

I wanted to beat up this couple from Ohio who was telling this Irish couple in a restaurant how the "local governments" failed throughout Katrina and the federal gov't wasn't responsible at all.

Meanwhile we spoke to many Brits on our trip. I never wore our politics on our sleeve but I did say while we lived in DC we never visited the White House (and muttered, "After all, I'd have to curse at the guy occupying it..." ) and I got a very grateful, "No, really!" with a big laugh from the British woman I was talking to... She warmed up a LOT after that.

I fear my father will be strolling down the Champs Elysees yelling, "WE HATE BUSH!!! DON'T HATE US!!!!" but he's definitely too cool for that. :-)

9. We saw more in France and Switzerland two years ago then
we see here.

At that time, people from our hotels eating breakfast in the same room with us seemed eager to start conversations a)bashing Bush and b)praising Clinton. Of course we were happy to comply. When one gentleman from Africa said, "Your President Bush" I replied, he is NOT MY president.
