Sure, I've got my own picks, but if one of yours floats to the top, there's no way in hell I'm voting the other way. Our worst is light years ahead of their best and I'm not peeling away votes.

Just sayin'... :P

Need to undo this damage in a BIG way.

who will vote to impeach Bush and to get us out of Iraq.

11. And yet you have Kerry in your signature?
He doesn't get to vote to impeach, BTW. Only members of the House can do that.

(I'll assume you mean you want someone who, as a legislator, will vote to impeach, not someone who promises to do so as president; that latter person has no business graduating from eighth grade, let alone being president.)

I'm voting for the Democrat.

Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 08:06 PM by BeTheChange
Maybe Satan is really progressive in his politics. (jk) ;)

Also, people can change parties..
...case in point, Wesley Clark.

16. I think we are assuming the party doesn't go insane - Satan, Nader,
give me a break.

Hey, maybe Barbara Bush will change parties and win the Democratic Nomination, would you vote for her? Can we stay in reality here.

I thought Clark didn't change parties. That was just something people who don't like him try to use against him.

Any Clarkies know the truth?

22. How realistic is making such a broad statement considering what the party
was been doing lately in regards to standing up for it's constituents.

What happened to the DSM? Where are those torture pics? Who has pressured the admin for a date to get the fuck out of Iraq, yadda yadda... yadda yadda... yadda

Fine, you think the Democratic Party is insane and Satan is a member - go ahead.

34. I dont think the Dem party is insane. I never said that..
I think the leaders of our country in general are insane, and obviously a good number of our fellow citizens.

My point was that it seems rather dangerous to say, whatever swill you throw us, we will eat it.

I demand a good president. In a country made up of millions and millions of people, that is not too much to ask.

Im sorry you feel the need to get histronic over poking good fun at what I consider such a silly statement.

36. Fight in the caucuses and primaries. That is where the choice is made.
Sometimes it is hard to tell when people are joking and when they are serious around here when it comes to criticizing Democrats.
Things frequently seem to go way over the top.

No harm intended.

I hate these "Revolution, but only on my terms" cowards who decide that the choice of the majority of the Democratic voters just isn't good enough. Screw them, let them vote Republican/third party/whatever. They may as well be Republicans now.

9. I've always had that attitude in the past,
but after Bush, I'm not so sure. Bush has taken the country back more than a half a century in terms of our role and respect in the world, equitable distribution of the bare necessities for life for Americans especially poor Americans, maintenance of the vital infrastructure, and promotion of opportunities for ordinary people. I sincerely don't think the American people can afford someone who accepts the post-Bush status quo.

I have never been an extremist, no even that far to the left. I'm 60 something and never once marched in a Viet Nam war demonstration. So you know I have always been moderate and pragmatic. It took Bush to radicalize me. His incompetency and extreme right ideology have scared me to the left. I think I will sit out the election or vote Green if the Democrats don't respond to my concerns. And that from someone who worked many, many hours for Kerry.

I wish I could agree with you. But, in good conscience, I cannot. I owe it to my children and grandchildren to insist on a real Democrat as president.

Moderates and liberals need to form an alliance if we want to put a stop to the one-party rule we're going through right now. If libertarians can band together with the religious right, then a moderate-liberal alliance should be a snap!

39. I really don't know if I will vote for anyone who voted Yes on IWR
This showed the judgment of someone who would give a gun to a madman. If the Dems put up a Bush enabler, I may stay home for the first time in my life. I handed out pamphlets for Hubert Humphrey when I was 12 years old, but if the Dems don't get it together to oppose this war, I'm not sure I'm one of them anymore.

42. WAKE UP, PEOPLE!
I'm with ya smartvoter! I sure as hell don't agree with all the dems do, but exactly "WHAT" exactly is the alternative? A vote for greens is a tree falling in the forest, no one will hear. Unless and until we get a viable 3rd party you only have 3 choices.

Vote puke, (there may be a slim few that are honest and have integrity like Ron Paul but otherwise they march in goosestep with the fascists.)

Vote indy, 3rd party or abstain (oooohhhh, this is gonna really scare moderate dems into moving left. tree meet forest)

Vote dem, i know, i know... they are DLC, Obama is a sell out, Feingold is a wimp, they all have no cahonees, etc, etc.

I can't disagree with alot of the dissent with the Dems but they are our best, and only hope. My rep is Missy Bean, she is a DINO, I don't like her votes so far, en toto. However, she is light years better than Crane, who she defeated. Should I ignore that she is left of Crane and not vote for the next puke candidate, or not vote in protest?

Baby steps people, this here country is the largest ocean liner ever conceived. It takes a while to change course against the huge inertia it has built up over two decades. It is happening and we should embrace every victory, large or small. Anything that pulls to the left, even if only a little, slows the forces that have een pulling to the right for so long.

Once we get straighten the ship and get control, we can keep steering left and the moderate dems will have to help.

Anyway, just my thoughts.

I mean if Dems voted otherwise, wouldn't it give the Repubs a better chance of winning? Although I was lukewarm about John Kerry, I voted for him in the last election because we didn't need Bush a second time around.
