Will that lying lunatic * get his power grab for the military here
soon enough to help him with his current struggles? First he wanted it after Katrina, now he wants it for the bird flu...seems any excuse will do.

1. It's beginning to sound to me
like he's losing control on the military with generals telling him the troops are pissed...

3. We probably would've heard about it sooner, but for 'private contractors'
serving as bodyguards for commanders in Iraq. More like, commanders held captive by corporations. What high ranking official would not be able to pick out a bunch of trust worthy chaps from his command to be his security?

They would seem to be under guard. Wonder if private contractors are protecting commanders' families too.

Did I fall asleep and wake up in Gemrany circa 1939?

8. I figured by 39, the paranoia of Hilter had been justified by brass
with brass starting to push back a bit. ;)

And a :kick: for this thread cause it is something to thing about and maybe ask questions about to get the public mulling it more.

9. He's looking for any reason to use the military, there is no doubt about
that. The real question is why? Why is he hell bent on removing the safe guards that keep soldiers from policing civilians? I have always wanted to believe that Martial Law was not one of his aims, but I am having a tough time buying it anymore.

10. He's gonna want martial law because Rove et al are going down and
he is gonna come off looking real bad.

So to stave off a possible coup he'll turn the military into the police.

12. Yes it seems obvious that he wants military power over civilians.
Why else would he be making recurring grabs for expanded power like this?
