What's the deal with hiding the salami? |
|
Letterman really had fun with that clip of Dean on Hardball; I did not see the original

4. Howard Dean said it the other night. He didn't mean it literally |

it was referencing the WH reluctance to release 'papers' from whatshername he nominated to the SC. Why can't I ever remember her name? Rian? It's Harriet something....jesus, I'm senile all of a sudden. edit: Miers. I better go lie down & die... shit

to the right...say they get abortion overturned. They may as well get contraception outlawed. Then there will be no indiscriminate hiding of the salami. Well, there will be, but there will be a gajillion babies born, and since women won't be allowed to work, they'll be staying at home to take care of them in the harem.
It's all about hiding the salami. If the Repubs can talk to each other in code, then so can we.

6. I just saw it on Letterman.. Hilarious! |
|
The best part was Dean almost cracked himself up a split second after he said it. Letterman cut the clip short, but it looked like he suppressed it pretty well. :D

Dean did, too, from what little I saw. I don't think that's what he meant, but it was great!

8. I cringed when Dean said that on TDS..I knew HE KNEW he messed up. |
|
It was not exactly the metaphor for hiding information that I think he meant to use. heh heh Hiding the salami...LOL!! Dean is so intelligent, so quick with the really good answers and then he has to mess up and say something totally wrong like "hide the salami"..LOL!! Sorry, it was that sad and funny kinda thing. I knew he would get blasted for it and deservedly so. I still love the guy.

10. I dunno... I think "Hiding the Salami" is a reasonable metaphor |
|
for BushCo vis-a-vis America. Sure, he could have said "hiding the pepperoni," or "hiding the tube steak," or "hiding the turkey roll," or something else -- but, since BushCo is so fond of hiding everything, "hiding the salami" works as well as anything else. O8)
(Psssst...)
Oh, THAT "hide the salami"...
BAD BAD HOWARD! :spank:
