Hotel Chain Asks Katrina Evacuees to Leave |
|
This is intolerable. So now we are a nation of kicking the down trodden AGAIN? I have sent a letter to the Hilton Chain, stating I am boycotting their chain and encouraging friends and family to do the same. I am one of the business people that travels frequently that they mentioned in the article. I have yet to be inconvenienced by evacuees. http://www.ajc.com/news/content/shared-gen/ap/National/Katrina_Hotel_Evacuees.htmlYou can contact Hilton at: http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/customersupport/index.jhtml;jsessionid=FVBPJC0LFA20MCSGBIW2VCQKIYFCVUUC

2. Compassionate conservatism |
|
is neither conservative (huge deficits, bloated Homeland Insecurity budgets, no-bid Halliburton contracts)
nor compassionate by any stretch of the imagination, unless you count compassion toward oil and pharmaceutical companies and the filthy rich.

3. Hotels wrong. Government wronger. |
|
I don't know. Maybe the US government should have tax dollars set aside to reimburse the hotels for their service. I'm pretty such that many of them are franchises, and I imagine local business owners could be wiped out by this.
It's immoral to kick out the homeless (not like we normally make provisions for the homeless, whose lives may be equally tragic-- in NYC, only 30% of the homeless have substance abuse problems and 25% are vets). But how much more immoral is it that our government has wasted our tax dollars on overseas oil adventures instead of planning for the disasters that will inevitably afflict our 'national family'.

4. The quick note I sent to Hilton Hotels on this. Thanks for the link. |

Comments: I just read where you are kicking out the Katrina victims. My wife & I will certainly not choose Hilton for our stays away from home. I am going to request that the companies we work for not use Hilton as well for this inhumane treatment of Americans who have already had to endure so much. However, with your Hilton heir and her fun show with the poor in Arkansas and the lavish lifestyle she lives and flaunts, it is understandable this might be the attitude of Hilton. I am also sending the article on out to other friends and co-workers that frequent hotels on their vacation and business trips.
