Minorities still absent from New Orleans' schools. |
|
They had an NPR report this morning on several schools that have opened back up this past week. They said the one obvious change they've noticed in the past few days is the large absence of minorities in the schools.

I don't think Orleans schools are actually open. They were probably talking about the schools in the suburbs (Metairie, specifically), which is predominately white. They opened on October 3. I don't know of any Orleans Parish school scheduled to open before January.

3. I think it was the Metairie area. |

but even those schools are reported to having 20-30% minority attendance. And those kids haven't returned....
