http://news.monstersandcritics.com/northamerica/printer_1053045.phpOh how I wish the Daily Show does a segment on this. Here's how it could go:
"After it was published this Thursday that Bush claimed God had spoken to him and told him to attack 'those terr'ist in Afghanistan', and 'attack those terr'ist in I-rak', and 'get those Palestinians a state', the president today attempted to distance himself from God"
"White House spokesman Snotty Mc-Cokespoon, denied that God had ever talked to the President, and said that any such claim was inaccurate"
"James Dobson, Jerry Fallwell, Franklin Graham, and Pat Robertson reacted with anger and confusion to the White House denial"
Dobson: "Well someone is lying here. Either the pResident is lying, or God is"
Fallwell: "You know I supported this man because I believed that God had spoken to him, and that he understood what God was saying. Now he's thrown God 'Under the Bus' for political expediency".
Graham: "I'm confused. Just the other day, after God had told me he sent hurricane Katrina to punish sinful New Orleans, he also told me that he had spoken to the pResident. Now either God is talking to the pResident, or he isn't. I'd like to know who's lying."
Robertson: "This blatant attempt to undermine the Bush pResidency has me rethinking my commitment to God. I expect God to come clean and tell the truth. He really did speak to the pResident".
Unfortunately, God was unavailable for comment. A spokesman for the big guy did say; "Look, we've got a lot of stuff on our plate. War, pestilence, feeding the poor. God just does not have time to answer questions about what goes on in the head of the most powerful man in the world."
