Gore: Admin dispatches "digital brownshirts" to hector adverse media reps
followed this link from the
Cursor.org site,
http://www.brendan-nyhan.com/blog/2005/10/al_gore_spins_t.html
and got this statement:

There's no evidence that the White House "placed" Jeff Gannon/Guckert in the White House press pool - they merely approved his credential. The journalists they allegedly paid for positive stories were actually pundits (Armstrong Williams and Maggie Gallagher), not "reporters." And the claim that "every day they unleash squadrons of digital brownshirts to harass and hector any journalist who is critical of the President" is also unsubstantiated -- the administration certainly pushes back against press coverage it doesn't like, but what evidence exists that they "unleash squadrons of digital brownshirts" against journalists each day?

Help me here, is there no evidence that Gannon/Guckert was "placed" in the WH? And no evidence that they swarm negative press sources with spinners?
Who's spinning here?

3. Thanks, will check them out
I was taken aback that someone would imply that the wednesday group and other amalgamations of righty media spinners did not exist or that Jeff Gannon, just happpened to get in there. Wanna answer someone who Cursor highlighted who seemed himself to be spinning.

4. Of course it is unsubstantiated for this dumbass
since he doesn't want to believe it's true. It's just too "tough" on poor totally apolitical Bush baby. It can't be true. Bush would never do such a thing. Nor would Angel Rove.

And pundits? Gimme a break. Both Amstrong and Gallagher present what they say and write as news. Something that is fact instead of just an opinion. Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity etc. do the same every day. Their goal is to misinform their audience into supporting whatever Bush does. Bush knows that. Rove knows that. That's why they paid them to spread their lies. If they had known that noone takes Amstrong and
Gallagher seriously since they are just "pundits not reporters" then they wouldn't have wasted a cent.

This is nothing but spin.
