LTTE: Call for Impeachment. President Insane
I sent the following letter to the St. Pete Times, Tampa Tribune, and Suncoast News. I also faxed it to Congress-critters Jim Davis, Mike Bilirakis, Ginny Brown-Waite, and Katherine Harris and Senators Bill Nelson and Mel Martinez. Maybe I should have sent it to the Dept. of Homeland Security too. It'll probably wind up there.

An Open Letter

This letter is addressed to Senators Martinez, Nelson, and Representatives Bilirakis, Davis, Brown-Waite, and Harris.

It is now imperative that you exercise your constitutional duty to remove the President of the United States and his entire administration. It has become increasingly obvious that he is a madman.

As was reported 2 years ago, and is being more widely reported now, he talked of hearing voices in his head, which he mistakenly assumed was God. This voice told him to invade Afghanistan, and in a later conversation told him to invade Iraq. Is this the same voice that told him to declare war on the American people? The nation is being bankrupted while poverty is on the rise. Destruction of the environment is accelerating. Veterans programs are being dismantled. Healthcare for military families is being wiped out, and is just a dream for millions of families. Wages for working, middle class people are plummeting while CEO salaries are skyrocketing. Higher education is unaffordable for millions.

This is not the America I grew up in.

From what I’ve read in the bible, God seemed to have a different take on things. Blessed be the peacemakers. You shall be judged by how you care for the least among you. It’s easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter heaven. Throw the money-changers out of the temple.

This week, he appointed another unqualified crony to the highest court in the land. He says that all opinions and writings by this appointee are privileged, and confidential. He can’t share them with the Senate, but he can share them with “Reverend” James Dobson. Since when did fundamentalist mullah have more veto power of a nominee than the U.S. Senate.

This President has violated every tenant of his oath and responsibility of office, and must be removed before the damage created is irreversible. The future of the country is in your hands.

Sincerely,

Only one thing: He nominated another unqualified crony to the SC; thank goodness he can't appoint them.

4. I have read many of your LTTE's, and this is by far my favorite.
I get both the Tribune and the Times, and I smile every time I open to a page and see your work. I hope this one makes it too! Recommended.

10. I didn't think they'd print "bat-shit crazy".
It reminds me of a time when I lived in Ohio. A mormon minister named Jeffrey Ludgren claimed that God told him to kill a family in his congregation. They locked him up, as they should do with Bush.

8. I agree
As a psychiatrist, I whole heartedly agree that he meets criteria for being psychotic and dangerous to others. He needs to be placed involuntarily in a psychiatric facility.

11. Is there not an organization of Psychiatrists
Who would come out against them... Perhaps Keith Olberman would have you on his show.

Besides that, he is making the whole country NUTZ by psychological abuse!

9. Did you already send? Typo, but it's a good letter
If you haven't already sent it...the word tenet has been misspelled. Tenant is the resident of a leased building.

But it's a great letter. I hope they print it somewhere. Keep us posted.

most LTTEs are not only riddled with typos and grammatical errors, but they are incoherent at best.

Yours makes sense.

Nice job!! Let us know if you hear anything or it gets printed.

Nominated!

18. Idiot or Liar? Either Way, Bush Is Unfit for Office
This first appeared in August 2003, but seems appropriate to this thread:

Idiot or Liar? Either Way, Bush Is Unfit for Office
John V. Whitbeck August 19, 2003

On July 25, President George W. Bush made a truly staggering statement to the press after a meeting with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan:

“The fundamental question is, did Saddam Hussein have a weapons program? And the answer is, absolutely. And we gave him a chance to allow inspectors in, and he wouldn’t let them in. And therefore, after a reasonable request, we decided to remove him from power, along with other nations, so as to make sure he was not a threat to the United States and our friends and allies in the region.”

This statement is worth reading carefully. The president of the United States has stated, in a public forum, that he invaded Iraq because Saddam Hussein would not allow weapons inspectors back into his country.

So far as I am aware, this statement has not been the subject of any serious critical analysis in the mainstream American media. I will therefore provide my own brief analysis.

Assuming, as seems reasonable, that the president of the United States was neither drunk nor on LSD, there can be only two possible explanations for this statement:

Explanation 1: The president of the United States believed what he said. In this case, he is so dim-witted and/or totally divorced from reality as to be mentally unfit to hold his current job — or, indeed, any job — and should be taken into medical care.

Explanation 2: The president did not believe what he said but, rather, believes (unfortunately not without compelling post-Sept.11 evidence) that the vast majority of the American people are so dim-witted and/or uninformed and the vast majority of the American media is so sycophantic and/or terrified of being branded “unpatriotic” (or simply losing White House “access”) that he can now tell any lie, no matter how obvious and outrageous, and get away with it. In this case, he is morally unfit to hold his current job and should, by constitutional means, be forced to relinquish it as soon as possible.

Either explanation should scare the wits out of anyone who is not comatose.

When a single individual combines ignorance, immorality, dry-drunk syndrome, a publicly proclaimed commitment to perpetual military domination of the entire world by his country, a publicly expressed belief that God personally instructs him to make war on specific countries and a wildly irrational born-again brand of Christianity that views the Battle of Armageddon and the consequent end of life on earth as desirable developments and, at the same time, has command authority over an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction more than sufficient to achieve the end of life on earth, it is difficult to argue that this individual is not the most dangerous person who has ever lived.

When (if ever) will the American people wake up to the real threat facing America and the world?
