Cheney Throwing Stones at Democrats
Edited on Fri Oct-07-05 06:50 AM by DoYouEverWonder

WASHINGTON -- There he goes again. The vice president has been throwing stones, and he's not the least bit sorry about it.

Dick Cheney took two opportunities this week to declare publicly that 75-year-old Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., seems to be "losing it." Cheney, 64, added in one interview that Rangel is "a lot older than I am, and it shows."

<snip>

But Cheney's sharp response -- in separate radio interviews Monday with two conservative talk show hosts -- suggests he made a calculated decision to hit back hard.

Norman Ornstein, a political analyst at the American Enterprise Institute, said Cheney is not a man prone to flashes of anger, but seems "increasingly less inclined to turn the other cheek" these days, particularly with congressional Democrats whom he once served alongside.

Aren't people in higher office supposed to rise above this sort of thing? Could you imagine if Hillary lashed out everytime someone said something she didn't like? Come on Dickie boy, grow up.

2. I don't think Cheney has all that much time left
to go F*CK HIMSELF.

If I was Rangel I'd come back with, "Hey, I'm not the one walking around wired like a freaking car stereo to stay alive.. not a BORG.. I can use the MICROWAVE ALL BY MYSELF... "

But Charlie is too cool to do that.. Cheney's cool too, but that's because he's a freaking ZOMBIE..

and he can go F*CK HIMSELF.

:)

4. When I first clicked on this thread...
I wasn't sure if I would encounter a metaphor. After all, it is Dick Cheney, who has a bad behavior rap sheet a mile long.

Slinging actual stones wouldn't seem at all out of character for him. I can just imagine him lurking the halls of Congress, winging stones at Democrats from the shadows and then slinking away with a grin on (half) his face, sparking legends about a "troll" that haunts the Capitol. Democratic mothers will scare their children with bedtime stories about "Stoney Dick" and his rock-flinging ways.

5. He's just another bully
and bullies usually turn into wimps as soon as you confront them directly.

I just hope Uncle Dickie gets indicted too.

6. Truth is, the big Dick isn't likely to live to Charlie's advanced age.
...Or for that matter to regain a level of good health similar to what Rangel now enjoys, despite being 75.

So Cheney can ridicule old age if he wants, but it's a status only achieved by people in much better condition than he's in.

And as far as "losing it," If Cheney's remark to Sen. Leahey on the Senate floor isn't evidence of losing it, then nothing Rangel said qualifies, either.

9. Cheney Throwing Stones at Democrats
WASHINGTON (AP) - October 7, 2005

Dick Cheney took two opportunities this week to declare publicly that 75-year-old Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., seems to be "losing it." Cheney, 64, added in one interview that Rangel is "a lot older than I am, and it shows."

To be fair, it wasn't Cheney who picked the fight. Rangel previously had lobbed a number of barbs at the vice president and suggested that Cheney, who has a history of heart trouble, might not be up to his job.

"I would like to believe he's sick rather than just mean and evil," Rangel said last week.

11. Charlie Rangel could kick your ass easily, Dick.
You've got one foot in the grave, you sonofabitch.

Your drug-addled boss is the one who is losing it.

I guess your desperation's showing.

16. Turn the other cheek? WTF?
First off, Republicans have never believed in turning the other cheek. They are very clear about this.

And, besides, what the hell with all these Republicans playing the victim?

"Poor Cheney, he gets attacked, and he is just getting too old to turn the other cheek".

Bullshit.

Cheney is a dirty, bitter, angry, vile, profane, disgusting old man. Where do people get off trying to say he is a victim?

Victim of what?
