TOLL ROAD in New Orleans to remain free for awhile
The causeway bridge connecting New Orleans to the northshore has been free to travelers since the hurricane and will remain free until one of the twin span bridges of I-10 connecting New Orleans to Slidell and the rest of the world east is fixed. Officials hope the twin span bridge will be open 1 November. The other span should be open by February. There is no toll on the twin span. The crescent city connection, a bridge connecting the east and west banks of New Orleans is a toll road. I believe the concept of toll roads was borne in Delaware.
