From the "knock me over with a feather" department

The same companies that spearhead reconstruction efforts in Iraq (read Haliburtan) are being granted contracts for Katrina with little nor no competition. Why am I not surprised?

5. My little crony........
it's an epidemic within the bush administration. bush only appoints cronies to positions that they're not remotely qualified for and only gives cronies fat, lucrative contracts that drain the Treasury with little or no oversight to keep them honest.
I think America is FINALLY waking up to the fact that we have a bunch of low-life crooks in the White House that are bankrupting the country by "privatizing" everything. But if you're not on the bush crony list you'll get nothing, tough shit, you'll be "privatized" right out of business. I hope I never live to see another 'bush" in the White House or another Republican for that matter. The entire bunch is rotten from top to bottom and should never be trusted with the purse-strings in this country again.

6. And 40 years from now, high school kids will have as little
understanding of all this as I had, 40 years ago, of the Teapot Dome scandals of the previous most-crooked Republican administration. I suppose back then, they didn't remember the cronyism and crookedness of the Grant administration, either.

As the cycle turns, I hope it means we are due for a progressive 20 years, real soon.
