I think Skinner, Elad, and EarlG deserve a raise.
I think these guys do a simply amazing job keeping DU running and constantly improving it.

If you think so, too, remember that you are the employer here. GIVE THEM A RAISE.

Hit the little "donate" button at the top of the page and send them a few dollars. Doesn't have to be a lot, but with thousands of us here, a few bucks each could mean a lot to these hardworking Democratic Heroes.

3. Me, too!
I'm set up for monthly donations; I should up my amount.

Maybe if GrovelBot asks me to.

5. Based upon what the site brings in, though.
More money in == More money to pay out.

Grovelbot runs W-98 and came down with a NASTY virus.

I hope so. They certainly deserve good salaries.

I hope that you give yourself one too.

I know that Skinner also has a publishing business.

11. I think you are confusing one David Allen with another!
Skinner is not the David Allen with the publishing business! :-)

And yes, I pay myself a tiny salary. Enough to barely get by on, but that is all White Rose as a business can support just now. And I expected to be poor when I started doing this full time. Small businesses take a while to get on their feet.

12. Yep, my hubby runs his business out of the house.
It is now doing well. It followed the same pattern as the business he had before and sold. It seems to take us about 3-4 years to get a business going well enough to pay ourselves a decent salary.

Thanks for clearing things up.

Where I'm confused is that I know that Skinner, EarlG and Elad run DU. But I thought that a poster going under "Kelvin Mace" ran a small comic-book publishing business. Does Skinner have a small comic-book-related business?

13. No... Kelvin Mace and Skinner share a name...
Kelvin Mace runs the Comic Book biz
Skinner runs DU

It confuses everybody at first.

17. Like I said, it confuses everybody.
Thats why David Allen #2 uses Kelvin Mace as his non-de-net when he is here.

21. Actually, that might be the only thing in my post
that IS true. I know they like to feed other people with virtual Swedish Fish, back in the days of the Ask the Admin forum it was a common pasttime. People would go into the ATA and kiss up to the admin and then they would give them swedish fish
