Did Shrubbie really ask us to "trust" him??
I'm out of the country and trying to catch up on what's going on back home. Did he really ask the American public to trust him about Meirs? You've got to be kidding me!! How has he earned any trust from regular Americans? I can understand the religious wrong and oil men trusting him to protect their interests but what the hell has he done to cause Mr. and Mrs. Joe SixPack trust him?

BTW - what coverage I've read in the International Times Herald, on the BBC, and Spanish news channels doesn't paint Americans in a very good light. Mostly because we still have that little Hitler as our president. The only good press I've read is about his plummeting approval ratings and the overwhelming vote to protect the civil rights of those in our custody.

I'm pretending to be Canadian while I'm here BTW. Not really but it's tempting.

1. His approval rating is at 37%, conservatives are freaking about Miers,
there were Terra, terra, terra alerts all day today and then they evacuated the Washington Monument at one point. Oh yeah, the House Republicans twisted arms and kept a 5 minute vote open for 50 minutes in order to twist arms and flip 2 votes to their side while the Democrats chanted "Shame, shame, shame!" Delay has filed suit against Ronnie Earl.

It's been a doozy of a day. :(

4. It was about a bill giving U.S. oil refineries incentives to expand.
