JEFF GANNON's involvement might be brought up in leak case
Another intriguing possibility in the leaks case brings back the baroque personality of right-wing pressroom denizen Jeff Gannon, born James Guckert.

The New York Times reported Friday that in addition to possible charges directly involving the revelation of Valerie Wilson's identity and related perjury or conspiracy charges, Fitzgerald is exploring other possible crimes. Specifically, according to the Times, the special counsel is seeking to determine whether anyone transmitted classified material or information to persons who were not cleared to receive it -- which could be a felony under the 1917 Espionage Act.

One such classified item might be the still-classified State Department document, written by an official of State's Bureau of Intelligence and Research, concerning the CIA's decision to send former ambassador Joseph Wilson to look into allegations that Iraq had tried to purchase uranium from Niger. Someone leaked that INR document -- which inaccurately indicated that Wilson's assignment was the result of lobbying within CIA by his wife, Valerie -- to right-wing media outlets, notably including Gannon's former employers at Talon News. On Oct. 28, 2003, Gannon posted an interview with Joseph Wilson on the Talon Web site, in which he posed the following question: "An internal government memo prepared by U.S. intelligence personnel details a meeting in early 2002 where your wife, a member of the agency for clandestine service working on Iraqi weapons issues, suggested that you could be sent to investigate the reports. Do you dispute that?"

Gannon later hinted, rather coyly, that he had learned about the INR memo from an article in the Wall Street Journal. He also told reporters last February that FBI agents working for Fitzgerald had questioned him about where he got the memo. At the very least, that can be interpreted as confirming today's Times report about the direction of the case.

Hopefully through this we can figure this person out. Why they were there on election night and white house only invite parties. I hope his ass gets nailed too if it's shown he was involved.

give or take a degree or two. Transiting Uranus is zapping around in that neighborhood.

Thus, after casting the Mighty Mighty Celestial Oracle Planetoid Replicas, I can predict with Absolute Infallibility (TM) that Jeff Gannon WILL continue to shoot lightning bolts out of his butt.

And quite publically at that.

19. Read somewhere here today that Harriet Miers controlled WH press passes.
Maybe she knows something about Gannon in all of this as well.

As I recall, Gannon bragged about seeing an internal (State Dept?)memo concerning Plame *setting up her husband's trip to Niger*.... (false).... and he later even ASKED Joe Wilson about it during an interview! Then, there was news that the FBI soon talked with Gannon, wanting to know what he knew about that memo.

Man, they are really circling their wagons now.

All of these stories are pointing to the same case, IMO, and that is that the neocons were so intent on having their Iraq War for oil domination, that they were hell bent on destroying anyone who got in their way.

Plame, Brewster-Jennings, Joe Wilson, the generals trying to warn them, El-Baradei of the IAEA, Scott Ritter, and many others.

Fitzgerald is very smart in that he started his investigation at the periphery and now is drilling down deeper and deeper into the evidence, and lo and behold, there is a cavern of poisonous snakes in the middle, and they all intertwine.

Harriet was the pimp for Gannon/Guckert? She gave him his pass?

If this is true, then I can say, without a doubt, that blivet** has crossed over into certifiably insane land. How could he think that this little tidbit would not be found out?

I am beginning to think Maher might be right ... blivet** might be tired and he might want to quit ... but they won't let him. So, he is giving it to himself, IN PUBLIC, so they demand that he go home ... which is where he wants to be anyway (as long as that Cindy woman is not there anyway).

Brief WH Bomb Scare

Forgive us if every time we hear about "suspicious packages" at the White House, we think of Jeff Gannon,
but it turns out the WH was locked down briefly this morning; someone "slipped the package under the fence." Ahem.

And speaking of suspicious packages: We hear that Harriet Miers was once in charge of renewing press passes...

http://www.wonkette.com/politics/white-house/index.php

Press Passes!?

True story. A friend just informed me that when he contacted the White House last year to renew his press pass, his
contact was Harriet Miers. Press passes?! That doesn't exactly put her very high up on the totem pole now does it?
I don't suppose she had anything to do with Jeff Gannon . . .

41. Yes. Read a book by John DeCamp.
He's an ex-senator from Nebraska. There's a new 2005 edition out. One must buy it directly from his Nebraska office.

This stuff goes back to George the First. It's scray.

I have been knocked down on this forum by Skinner himself because they don't put much credence to it. Andy Stephenson thought a lot about it, but now he's dead.

Don't look so much at the sites that are suspect, but the tale is out there.

Thames Television in Britian did a whole show on it. They sent a crew to Nebraska and stayed for a few months. It was surpressed. There is only a rough draft copy that remains. It was delivered clandistinly to DeCamp and is on the internet if you know how to find it.

Many people are dead now that investigated the story. It is very scary.

I lived in Nebraska and knew some of the principles. I know they were corrupt. The G/G/G thing should still be investigated.

52. I must tell you. There really is nothing in the book about G/G/G.
Edited on Sat Oct-08-05 03:39 AM by LibInTexas
By the number of post, you see kind of new. (Nothing wrong with that, we've all been new.)

Earlier, there were a great number of threads on DU. when Andy was alive, that were trying to link the Gannon Gossh thing. It ran to the thousands. They would have to repost one tread and make it another because there was so much interest. It probably amounted to around 5 or 6 thousand posts.

Because Rense and Prison Planet picked up on the story, DU decided that it was discredited. I don't hold a lot of credence with either of those sites, and nor does DU as they are Holocaust deniers. But just because they picked up on the story, all of sudden it became verboten on DU. DU does not want to be associated with outlandish "weather wars" or "911" conspiracy people.

The "Franklin" people kind of got slotted in there, for what ever reason.

I firmly believe that if Andy was still alive, this would still be a hot topic on DU. He would not give up.

They would delete stuff, and then it might be back because of Andy's insistence. Now, you can't even find it in the archives, let alone Andy's name.

I think this is all about not wanting to look foolish. When the tsunami stuff happened, there were a bunch of thread's that opined that it was man made. Someone at the NYT picked that up and editorially said that DU was nothing more than conspiracy nuts.

The mgt. here didn't like that, and put the clamp down. However, Andy was still able to keep the G/G/G thing going.

I've brought it up a few times, since Andy's death, and I've been taken out. The mgt. has told me the story is desecrated and that's that.

You can't fight city hall.

-sorry for bad grammar or spelling-

The Gannon "Wrinkles" threads (20 of 'em) are linked on this page in Demopedia. There are also some synopses of the threads. http://demopedia.democraticunderground.com/index.php/Gannongate_Wrinkles

67. Yeah, thanks for that info. I'd always wondered what happened to
those threads and why that got dropped so quickly from here.

Is that why we don't hear any more about the Iraq jail bust, too?

Wow, our fear of looking foolish is quite an Achilles heel. Had the Rovester know about it he could have shut us down years ago.

71. revelation
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 02:42 PM by enid602
I'm not sure the viewing public would be able to digest the implications of such a revelation; I don't think people in power in either political spectrum would touch it with a ten foot pole. Too demoralizing for the country.

42. Blair
Don't forget too that Gannon bragged to frat initiates at a function at his West Chester College reunion in PA that he had to leave early for DC as he had to meet with Tony Blair. White House logs later showed Gannon in and out at the same time Blair was in town. This might have some bearing on why an otherwise seemingly normal Blair was intent on cooperating with GWB on Iraq, despite the foolhardiness of it, and despite the wishes of his countrymen.

63. Ah...Gannon again.
I for one, would love to see this mystery solved-not only the REAL reason Gannon was at the WH in the first place but also the G/G/G connection.... somehow I can't shake that this is all entwined and goes back to the Franklin case and Poppa *.

It's all coming together.

Has anyone been able to figure out the identity of Jeff's lover in the White House? Any speculation?
