edit: Phil: If we'd listened to the constitution and Rober t Byrd this (Iraq War) would never have happened. The suits tooks us to war, not the generals.

1st caller: Atlanta area congressional candidate Q about racial politics
Edited on Fri Oct-07-05 08:20 PM by CottonBear

John C...? 6th district, GA (Republican)
Q. Why can't we have a rational conversation about race without being nasty?
A. We should be able to discuss these issues w/out rancor.

2. Phil Rocks. He just had a crank caller who asked about crank callers
before being zapped by Brian!

2nd caller (CA) : Q: Are you (Brian) a conservative or a liberal?
Brian said I'm not going to answer but at home I have my own opinions. When you've done this (job) as long as I have you're neither.
Phil discussing how liberal is now a nasty term. It's easier to be "conservative."
How Newt made Liberal a dirty word.

13. He was young. I miss Bill. He wasn't perfect but he's a decent man.
We should have a President Gore now. Gore would have been even better than Clinton if he could have built on Clinton's successes.

Unfortunately, so many Americans are ignorant of the actual text and meaning of the constitution.

They just ran an interview w/ an essay winner: Liberal black actress!
She rocked!

They are running clips of past guests: they just showed Benjamin Hooks (NAACP) from 1981.
