For those of us with Dish Network or Direct TV, GREAT stuff on Link TV now |
|
Hi all
Switch to channel 375 if you have Direct TV or channel 9410 if you have Dish Network - Link TV just finished airing "Bush's Brain" and is now doing a segment on Katrina - coming up after that is the documentary Wellstone! and after that, highlights from the rally in DC and then a documentary called "Arlington West". My TIVO is busy!!

11. I just discovered Link TV about a month ago |
|
Didn't know I had it. The thing I don't like about DirecTV is that all the channels are the same color on the program guide. My parents have Dish (I think) and channels they have are in one color and the ones they don't have are in another.
I was watching Link a week or so ago and a documentary about farming came on. I was watching the first 10-15 minutes with footage of this beautiful prairie and wishing I was there. Finally they said where it was... less than an hour from where I grew up in North Dakota. No wonder it made me so homesick!

I watch it daily. I want to see them grow to become our main source of news.
Thanks for the heads up on the Tivo. I'm going to give it a look .
It's time to donate again. There's nothing like it, except cspan.

8. does Tivo = DirecTV DVR? |
|
in my last bill I received a little flyer about getting a DVR for $48 after the rebate. Other times I've seen it for free.

9. well TIVO is a brand of DVR |
|
I got mine for $49 after rebate but I think Direct TV may be soon producing its own DVR without the TiVo brand name.

it is all a little over my head since I've never used it or seen anyone use it, plus if it runs on electricity it is already over my head. But I always thought it sounded so weird to rewind live TV.

13. Love Democracy Now! on Link. |
|
It's great to hear the other, real side of news. Most of the rest of the programs seem to be foreign entertainment or documentaries which really don't interest me, but there is the occasion good one like those you mentioned.
Considering all those programs seem to have been show several times already at least once or few times a week, I think there's a good chance they will rerun them yet again.
Let's just hope this all lasts. From what I understand after destroying PBS, the RW corporate conglomerates are looking to further change the rules to go after community access TV.

I really appreciate your giving the DirecTV channel--that made it very easy to find. I'm watching the Wellstone program now and enjoying it very much.

The programs have been very informative. Many will be repeated after the protest program. If you are home Saturday night, they are well worth watching.
