I Don't Know Man, I Have Just Lost My Mojo. I'm Fatigued.
I have been on fire with more ideas than I could turn into graphics and posts than I had time to turn out for a long time now. It used to keep me up at night. I used to wake up early to get one more graphic done.

Then something strange happened to me. I just stopped giving a shit. I have no new ideas. I am beat.

I think that watching the Katrina disaster and the relatively little blowback that the politicians took has caused me to give up. I think it was some sort of final straw.

I really resent having to fight these corrupt bastards all the time.

I am fed up with this country and its willfully ignorant electorate. I used to think that they would wise up if we all worked hard enough or things got bad enough. Now, I really doubt that.

Maybe I am just burned out. Maybe it is some form of writers block. I don't know. Either way, it sure is an odd feeling.

Funny thing is that it all happened as Bushco. finally started taking some heat. Maybe the heat has taken some of the pressure off that I was applying to myself.

Hell, I do not know.

I hope I get it back soon.

I did manage this graphic this week. But that is piss poor productivity for me.

Where is my mojo? Where oh where did it go?

3. Rest and relax.
We all get to that point sometimes. I go on and off, am off right now. Frustrated and anxious and worried that the grand jury will somehow let this all go away. It happens and this is coming from Ms. Optimistic!

You will be back and on your mettle before long but take the pressure and guilt off of yourself and have a little fun like you would if BushCo had never happened. Check in and before long you will be back.

Nobody can take all of this crap without having to step back from time to time and regroup.

5. Hang tough....
I feel somewhat the same way.

I was all pumped up at the protest in DC, and remained that way until this week. It was a real let down to me when there was very little main stream media attention on the protest.

Now I feel somewhat depressed. I can't come up with anything intelligent to say here at DU. Its like I'm lost for words, and as I scroll thought the subject lines of the posts I become more depressed.

Hopefully Fritz will come through early next week, and perhaps that will lift my spirits some.

6. Happened to me after the election
I figured two things out then. One, I can't believe I'm going to convert everyone, I have to wait for people to come around. Doesn't mean I have to stop trying or stop caring, only that I have to quit being disappointed when I don't win, as long as I'm doing my best.

And two, a break for a while is a good thing. Write your novel. Get into shape. Learn a new hobby. Do something away from the internet or politics or media for a while. At some point, you'll feel better, and you'll be burning to go at it again.

Just remember, Bush is in office until 2008, and Congress is corrupt until 2006, at least. You've got plenty of time. The bad guys aren't going away. They'll be here waiting when you're ready to take them on again. If not, smile and enjoy. If they are, you are needed most in the months before the 2006 election.

Just my answers to the same situation. Yours may be different. Good luck.

I think I'm just gonna sit back and watch the BushCo. train wreck on tv.

It's been a long four and a half years.

It's okay to get tired. :argh:

10. Don't Worry DA,
You have been pouring out brilliant graphic, after brilliant graphic for at least as long as I've been here, probably longer.

You have more than earned a "fallow" season. I suspect that it will be shorter than you fear (just a hunch). Whatever you do, don't worry it to death. Take a vacation, if you can. Start something you've had on the back burner if so inclined.

You put bright plumage on the anti-war movement and all progressive desires that will live on until you feel the burn again.

11. Think of it as "temporarily misplaced"
I spent most of September in a zombie like state, not believing that our government could cause the death of at least 10,000 of its citizens through their intentional negligence.

I am finally able to focus again and work at full speed, but it took a lot of R&R and time away from the computer. Add in lots of non-sexual cuddling with SO and a trip to a nearby hotsprings to mend my weary heart.

We have all been on information/disaster overload since * stole the office in 2000 and progress has been slow to turn the tide of public opinion around so that they finally understand they fell hook, line and sinker for *'s lies.

The good news is that polls are showing that the sheep are looking up and maybe a change for the good is just around the corner.

You have done a lot of great work and deserve a much needed break, so go for it and spend some time taking care of yourself.

13. Bush lost his mojo, you didn't
It just used to be easier before the administration became a parody of itself. The things they are doing and saying nowadays, right out in the open for everyone to see, are way too outlandish to be anything but a Simpson's episode.

You just need a break.

14. I'm sure the Mojo will come back.
It has been an especially intense time with the two hurricanes, the crappy response to them, plus Bush with this business as usual. You really were churning out some things -- great things, by the way -- on an almost daily basis. Maybe your "block" is just your brain's way of telling you that you need a rest.

You have too much talent for it to just disappear!

17. Awwwww.
There was a kind woman who opened her refrigerator door and saw a little squirrel in there. She said, "Hey, little one, what are you doing in my refrigerator?"

He looked up at her with those cute brown eyes and said, "This is a Westinghouse, isn't it?"

She said, "Why, yes, it is."

The little squirrel said, "Well, I'ze westing."

Your mojo is just "westing," D.A.

18. Mojo isn't yours. He doesn't belong to you. OTHERS belong to him!
Which means, he is the owner of everybody else, which belong to him, therefore he own everybody and everybody is his. Ergo, he owns everybody, and everybody is his property, therefore, everybody belongs to him.

23. Your MoJo will return
We all go through this.
Sometimes I just read DU for days and not post and some days I post stupid shit and some nights I post drunk shit because I'm pissed and don't know what else to do.
Every other week I write and LTTE and they print everyone of them in the city I live in. I believe I have freeper heads exploding in this town like the audience at a Gallagher comedy skit with plastic over their repuke heads. I get my MoJo from posters like you it's people like you at DU that make me come here everyday Distressed American you will be back.

24. For What It's Worth
I liked the new graphic. It says so much with each spin.
I fully understand your reasoning and was feeling the same this weekend. I had a long drive alone with the radio and had to talk to myself a little. I told myself that there has to be a real focus for the democrats. The group that is supposed to be representing us is a very sorry lot. They are Rollover Democrats and I'm frankly sick of them all. Every time we should have dubco by the booboo, "we" let them slip.
I see the big focus on the horizon is getting our vote back. It is so primitive to life in the clan. If we are willing to let the thugs rule the clan without a vote there are going to be many more hurting members.

I had a cousin die of cancer after a 15 year battle at the age of 42. I reminded myself that I was able to make 4 more years than he did and I have my health yet.(well mostly that is) His brother wrote a letter to him where he mentioned the 2 million plus miles he drove as a trucker. He said he had been to the ends of the Earth, but that wasn't enough. He had to Roll On!

That took me back to the rollovers and then back on the rant again. These dirty devils will not stand the test of time. Catch your breath and get back in there man!

28. Makes sense, DA. You've been like the Energizer Bunny ever since...
I've been coming to DU (and probably long before that).

Even the Energizer Bunny ultimately has to either change or recharge his batteries. You need to make sure that you do things to put energy back into yourself as well as using it. Maybe you need to take just a "Politics Free" day once a week for now, or something like that.

Hope that you feel better soon! We need you in the fight, but we need you to take care of yourself also. In my opinion, you're one of our most valuable assets.
