This is probably a dupe, but NBC's hit piece on Blanco contains the 2 lies
that we always see:

1. Blanco didn't request troops: she did, on the 28th of August before the hurricane hit IN A LETTER which has been all over the net and is on the governor's website.

2. Troops is troops: There were actually two different sets of troops applied for. The first was the National Guard troops from states like Arizona--Governor Bill Richardson Ok'd it on Saturday, about 48 hours BEFORE Katrina hit, but the paperwork for these troops took until THURSDAY to be signed by the proper department in DC. For the second type of troops (federal) see #1.

NBC news shamelessly spread propaganda--and probably libel--against Governor Blanco last night. Not that NBC news doesn't service this administration on its journalistic kneepads normally--it does. But these lies have so often been debunked, even on snopes.com, that it is surprising that NBC Nightly News brought them out again.

But, considering the idiocy of the average Bush voter, maybe it's not.

1. I'm just hoping that the crazy people ie. Vitter fans DON'T decide
To do a recall of Governor Blanco, because I think she's done and is doing an excellant job under incredibly unusual and difficult circumstances and I adore her completely. But I'm afraid that the mediawhores along with the GOP are gunning for her scalp ala Gray Davis. I sure hope I'm wrong about this.

2. The neocons are shameless. I have no doubt that they will fuel a recall
What bothers me is that NBC news is back on the whore list and will promote their John's agenda, even when it is based on outright and already disproved lies.

3. Heck I'm very worried about Governor Blanco
Have been since Katrina. Oh I'm not surprised that NBC is back on the whore list, NONE of these MoFo's EVER left the whore list.

If it walks like a whore, talks like a whore, then chances are it's a whore. NEVER trust these bastards EVER, they're a bunch of vipers and they're NOT our friends, NEVER have been and NEVER will be.

4. Lisa Meyers Hits Again
This "investigative reporter" seems to come out when things get dire...when a "whopper story" is needed. She's the one who pushed a lot of Starr's material then, when that didn't work, put out the Juanita Broderick crap to try to fuel the Clinton hate back up after the Senate put an end to that nonsense.

Last year she came out with a bunch of "reports" on the Slime boaters that all but gave them credibility by "investigating" their charge...doing the old Repugnican bait and switch game as to get the lie out first and louded and do the minimal to refute it.

Looks like things aren't going good for the Repugnicans if they have to bring her crap out and attempt to feed the wingnut lie that Katrina really wasn't that big of a deal and whatever went wrong was Blanco and Nagin's fault. If not them, then the victims.

As has been the case, the Repugnicans don't seperate the damage done by the storm as opposed to the resulting breech and flooding of New Orleans. The issue has and always will be the reponse AFTER the storm hit, not before. Why did thousands have to wait for 4 long days to get the basics...food, water...and semblence of civil society? This wasn't the state or city's job...these are assumed to be incapacitated in these type of events...that's why you have a National Guard and FEMA in the first place.

For once wouldn't it be a pleasant surprise if these goons actually took responsibility for one of their fuck ups? Just once???

5. Lisa Myers was a COMPLETE bastard to President Clinton
I'll never forget how she acted and whored during the Monica non-story.

Lisa needs to eat a few more Krispy Kremes...she's nearly as fat as Candyass Crowley...Go on Lisa, you KNOW you can do it.

8. HIt em where it hurts
Tell them (in massive numbers) that we will boycott their stupid network, and document, document, document and debunk. We have to be smart and disciplined about this.

10. Last Night on the NBC Nightly News.
I was witness to it and it was sickening. NBC really went after Blanco and had a long laundry list of her mistakes. They basically blamed her for the whole damn thing, and then tried to look "balanced" at the end when they said something very briefly about the fact that FEMA was partly at fault too ("the cavalry never came").

11. Ah. Well, we can take some solace in that no one was watching it.
Who watches nightly news on a Sat.?

15. Unfortunately garbage in , garbage out is true
She's going down in the polls in LA and the Miss and Bama Governors whom aren't getting slimeboated are going up. Shows how easy it is to lead the sheeple by the nose. If I had unlimited money, access and time I could probably convince 55% of americans that we never went to the moon.
