Guys, I'm feeling tapped out today.
I've sick of being outraged. I'm sick of fearing the next insult that this government can throw our way. I'm sick of being angry. I'm sick of feeling like we need to take care of so many people who won't take the time from shopping to stand up for themselves. I'm sick of having to outguess the Rs and second guess the Ds, when it comes to the Congress. I'm sick of being told what I should believe an dhow I should believe it. I'm sick of feeling heartsick.

2. I am on edge too
Much anxiety with some anticipation about Plamegate, and just tuckered out and restless at the same time. Very weird feeling.

3. Outrage Overload
I think everyone here has dealt with it. Take a couple hours, go outside to enjoy the weather, read a book or something. Bubble baths, soothing showers are good too. Just get away from everything for a while.

6. I am feeling the same.
I think it also doesn't help that ALL the news is depressing-mudslides, earthquakes, Katrina victims living in FEMA trailers that have no electricity or plumbing. I am on outrage and sad overload just like you . Hang in there Skidmore! Here's to better days for everyone!

Needless to say you know we understand. It's hard to get away from the news and the computer, but if you can, take a break for a couple of days. Go do something you've been wanting to do but have been putting it off.

If you can see a little new landscape. That always helps to clean and clear the slate a little.

Take care of yourself first Skidmore. You are tired and this stuff is draining.

If you rest, then you can have energy to do what you are called to do.

9. Welcome to the club {{{hugs}}}
Like most everyone else with a heart we are all experiencing symptoms similar if not actually suffering from PTSD. The emotional roller coaster we have been on is tough for everyone. (should someone write a book called "Citizens Who Love too Much"???)

We have to be happy with the smallest bits of progress that are being made. When I took care of my mother after she had a massive stroke 9 years ago I learned to appreciate just the tiniest bits of improvement that she made. Something as simple as repeating a vowel sound made our day. It took many years of hard work, but progress was continual until cancer stole her from me. I learned to not concentrate on what was lost, but on what was gained.

This country is in such bad shape that it is going to take a long time for its recovery, but we can't lose sight of all the small positive changes that are occuring.

Take a break as that is what we all need from time to time to avoid being overwhelmed.

I am planning on treating my BOOS today with a trip to the movie theater to see Nick Park's new "Wallace and Gromit" movie. Should be cracking good fun. :D

22. W & G is next on my list, Saw Corpse Bride yesterday and it was
delightful. I was really surprised that it was 1 1/2 hours long, it went by so fast.
Much needed break from reality. :woohoo:

11. I have days like that. I usually just read fiction, or play video games.
It helps pass the time, to just forget reality for a bit.

Been reading: Dan Brown's Deception Point

And playing: Day of Defeat: Source, and Asheron's Call.

Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 11:23 AM by cassiepriam
take some time to recharge. Hug your kids, pet your dog.
You cannot control what others do, but you can control you. Go out and do some good. Go out and make the world a better place if just for one day. Many of us are heartsick. I personally am haunted by the thought of the many women and children we have murdered and maimed in Iraq. They are in my thoughts and prayers every day.

15. Good advice
I think I'll take it. Unless some crazy news breaks like the Fitzgerald indictments. I think I'm worrying my girlfriend with my constant segues into horrifying political topics.

16. If we do not take breaks, we become engulfed in the horrendous evil.
We do no one any good if that happens. Cleanse the muck off your soul and get in touch with goodness. Hug your girlfriend, take her out to dinner. Look at how beautiful she is.

The evil dictatorship will be here for awhile, pace yourself.

14. I'm So Sick Of People Just Talking And Not Doing Anything!
I'm just so tired. I'm tired of everyone talking (after a morning of watching LINK TV). Why, God, why isn't anyone doing anything to stop this pin head and his regime???? We're dying here! What are we physically doing to get things right????

Aren't there any groups out there with solid plans to get us out of this mess??

Please, more action and less talk!

Sudie in MN
