Kerry not only didn't do enough for the military, HE LIED TO GET MEDALS. Clinton's Universal Health Care was not only a bad idea, HE HELPED SMUGGLE COCAINE INTO ARKANSAS!

Among the 69 (wow!) reader reviews, there are a few that I agree with:

It is a funny book, and yes, I've read it. But I was disappointed to find it's missing the "after word." The part that tells about how these kids couldn't make drinkable lemonade because the water in their homes down stream on the Hudson has too much mercury from upstream plants that bought a free pass under the Clean Water Act; that there was no sidewalk on which to place their lemonade stand because there wasn't enough tax money in their community to build sidewalks; or how they needed a caluclator to add up fifteen cent glasses because their schools were failing and they couldn't do basic math; or how these boys really needed to raise money selling lemondade to buy basic supplies for their schools, or because, at the tender age of 8, they had to start a nest egg for themselves becuase when they grow up the borrow-and-spend conservative leadership of today will have burdened their adulthood with trillions in national debt left to them to pay off. Maybe there's a sequel here --"Mommy, There are Conservatives Under My Bed (And They Made Me Pray Before I Tucked In)"


love the satire in this one...

When I heard the title of this book, I have to admit, it raised my hackles as a liberal, but then I read it and realized, "Oh, this is SATIRE." My kids will love this! They have very grown up senses of humor. I can recall them chortling through the 9/11 Commission report and Al Franken's "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot," so I knew they would get this right away.

My three-year old daughter got real belly laughs from the characters in the book. So much better than the Rainbow Fish or Goodnight Moon! She loved it so much, she took it to her private school for show and tell. My wife is an executive at Diebold, and they get satire and irony as much as the next conservative, so we'll be sure to give it out as stocking stuffers. At this price it's way cheaper and easier to understand than a subscription to the Washington Times or the Limbaugh Letter!

I don't want to give anything away, but if you are expecting the quality of "My Pet Goat" you will be let down. However, if you wish to teach your children the folly of equal rights, fair health care, sound public education, and efficient government this is the book for you!

I'm planning on giving 1 copy to my 22 month old son; one copy to a conservative friend's daughter who just turned 2; and one copy to a liberal (who is close to becoming a conservative) friend's son who will be 2 in December. Need to teach them the difference between conservatives & liberals when they are young!
