RW as I predicted is giving up on Bush to save face
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 11:42 AM by jsamuel
As we see in LBN, conservative leaders are now calling Bush a "moderate" instead of conservative or neo-conservative. This is another effort to distance the failed conservative policies from the failed conservative President. By doing this they hope to keep all the failure on Bush's shoulders instead of on their failed conservative policies.
(from LBN - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1838047 )

As I posted a week ago as I saw the Miers rejection go down:

Fed up Republicans Using Miers Nomination as an Excuse to Save Face While Giving Up on Bush

They don't want to admit that they were wrong on their policies or on their support of the Iraq War.

They don't want to admit that what their ideals have brought us is the biggest govt' in history and the biggest national debt in history.

They don't want to admit that Katrina was a huge federal failure.

They don't want to admit they have been supporting the oil companies and taking more money out of their own pockets causing gas to skyrocket.

They don't want to admit that they have become so corrupt that they are stealing more money than could possibly be saved by destroying public programs.

They don't want to admit that ultra-conservativism is causing most of the problems that we face today.

So, they finally are fed up, but instead of showing true form and admitting they were wrong, they are going to say Bush picked a bad SC nom. and that is the last straw?

Guess so.

1. As I predicted too....
I believe Bush will be driven from office long before the end of this term,
and the chief movers will be Republicans desperately trying to save the
credibility of their party.

2. Dems need to take advantage of this state of disorganization and confusion
to step in and exert some leadership. A Gingrich style realignment and Congressional takeover is their for the taking if they play their cards right. They need to take advantage of this unprecendented opportunity.

3. Just don't go there
If they can fool you about this then you are their fool.
They cannot afford to honestly change horses in mid-stream!
This is only another ploy to enable the republicans to stay in business for another day!
Don't step over to their side of the War Table for any of their manipulations. The lies are for their benefit and not one of them can afford to criticize the regime they so willingly joined including a lot of democrats!

4. wtf are you taking about?
they HAVE to separate Bush from their failed policies!

Their own denial won't allow any acceptance of the truth of thier failure.

5. Yes, and isn't it interesting how they all turned at the same time...
it's like something pulled all their chains at the exact same time. Schiavo, Katrina etc. was enough for a lot of the "independents", but the real power conservatives on tv and the media ALL went over the edge on Miers.

It definitely feels orchestrated.
