Israel To New York: Don't Bend To Terrorism
http://www.israelnewsagency.com/newyorkisraelterrorismsubways9751009.html

Jerusalem----October 9......For the last few hours I have been reading the news out of New York. It speaks of terrorism and fear. It talks of terror threats to the very essence of infrastructure which makes New York vibrant - her subways.

US authorities were correct in warning the citizens of New York that a team of "terrorist operatives" planned to attack the subway on Sunday with remote controlled bombs hidden in briefcases or baby strollers. Awareness is the solution to terrorism. Yes, the police and FBI maybe on a full security alert, but it is John and Jane Doe who must use their eyes and ears to spot an unattended package or report a person who is acting in a suspicious manner.

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security which sent the urgent terrorism bulletin to state and city officials on Thursday, the same day that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the threat but withheld details, saying they were classified.

The focus on this terrorist threat in New York must not be on images of bombs going off in subways. It must be that of Islamic cowards who are using terrorism's greatest weapon - fear. It is not the bullet or the bomb which will create destruction, it is fear itself. These Islamic terrorists want each and every New Yorker to hide behind trees and light poles, to stay within the confines of their apartments and suburban homes. These terrorists are not targeting innocent civilians riding the A or E trains, but rather the economy of New York. They want New York and the US to sweat. To become paralyzed and in doing so paralyze the very economic support system for which we all depend upon.

2. Despite a lot of belief otherwise

New York is not Israel, and Israel is not New York.

It would be nice if more people accepted the distinction. A lot more people, whatever their tribalism.

3. manic expression to Israel: shut up
stop oppressing and murdering innocent people, as well as stealing land. Your policies are the most disgusting the world has seen in recent history. YOU are the terrorists.
