Whereas I do agree that force is overused in many cases (whether in the form of a beatdown or a taser), the vast majority of the time, you can avoid ANY sort of rough treatment by not being an asshole. Do what the cop says, and you won't get jacked in most cases.

and good for you. Hopefully there will not come a time when you will be in the wrong place...say a peaceful protest....at the wrong time. Hanging someone upside down over a bridge to find out who sold him his dope maybe okay with some. There's always a line. And because of the psychological nature of the powerful against the powerless there is a natural tendency for abuse. It happens more than not. It happens to animals. It happens to adopted and foster children. And, they did nothing to be treated like that.

All I stated in my post was that if you don't resist/fight, you probably won't get your ass kicked by a cop. Sure, it happens, but I feel as though it's infrequent.

Sounds like this guy in NOLA was not out of line, Not drunk, and not abusive.

Sometimes you just get your ass kicked by a hostile and abusive cop. Maybe you have never experienced it. But, I have seen it with my own eyes on two occassions. Both black victims involved who were not resisting.

Yes, there are a number of variables that determine how "bad" it really is, but it RARELY causes any physical damage.
